The current point of DayZ

The current point of DayZ is pretty much this ;

~Get geared up.

~Join a highpop server to pvp ?

~ DIE .

I wish we would have a point .

Just add tents or cars anything please .

(I expect alot of people saying " OMF ITZ ALPHA STFU"

I know this is alpha .. But US players kinda need a point :p

Thanks for reading this. All comments are suggested .

Ooh, another "I know this is alpha, but..." post.

Seriously, have you even been paying attention to the devs? There's a lot of content coming, you just have to wait for it. No amount of pissing and moaning will make it arrive faster.

well the point of the game is whatever you make it to, whatever makes you have FUN, i know how this feels after you had your gun for a few times, and you killed someone, because, WHAT is next?

what´s next after killing freshspawn for 2 hours, or helping out freshspawns for a whole day, whats next?

you decide, i recommend joining a clan that have the some of the same interests as you.

the problem with the game as it is right now, is ofc that it is in alpha, but the problem for you is that there is no problem in the game,

theres no problem for you to fix, there no objective for you to do, it´s a point in the game where you just have to use your imagination

i personaly like to capture people and feed them the wrong stuff, while being mean, but find something that makes you want to play the game!

ofc this is all my opinion.

Add in everything that adds to the experience and makes the game fun/balanced.

Like make players corpses turn into zeds 5-10 minutes after death. Gear stays on them, clothes stay on them, and they are lootable when you kill them. This way if you go back for your gear, you have to find the zed and kill it first to get your gear.. unless you get there REALLY FAST. Also this would leave new zeds in place of player bodies which would add to the experience, the zombie theme, etc..

Also tents, buildable housing/forts, vehicles, animals and add in hot air baloons/hanggliders/ultralite aircraft.

You have a "point". Your purpose is to report bugs so that when the game is finished you can have your fun and your "point". Your purpose is not to have fun and kill and do whatever you want. If you are playing the game just to do that and you're complaining well than i see this as completely pointless.

Urg.. Expected hate comments & crap.

I know they will add more but atm . They should give us a point of playing . Not just focus on the bugs. But fun .

The alpha should be 100 percent focused on adding content and features.

Optimization and bug fixing should be done at the end, this is an alpha it by no means needs to be entertaining we are merely testing the game so that the final product is a smooth fun experience.

This game is just frustration. You play with others to share the frustration and diminish individual frustration. Then you die. The end.

Strange seeing the team is split up to do different jobs/tasks it would make perfect sense that during the alpha that we would get well both...

They need to bug fix to steady up the foundations of the alpha to allow to put more features on top ..

People keep using the building a house theory and well it really does fit i mean you dont put the roof on till you have built the walls and made sure there straight and load bearing....

Sorry but I'm not paying to alpha test someone else's game. I'm paying to play the thing. If I were testing they ought to be paying me (although not much, application testers don't make shit).

Did you read the warning at the start of the game?? Sorry but they told you that its an alpha. If you want to complain then wait until 2015 when they release the final build then if you hate it you can cry all you want...

I know two people have mention this but the stupidity of the poster can not be empathized enough. YES you did pay to alpha test someone's game. How did you miss the disclaimer when you bought it in the steam store or on the main website. Guess what you are STILL alpha testing this game. there is a disclaimer everytime i load up the game. Now if that is just for me oh well i get it but still plan on playing.

As for the OP I really don't see the point of this thread. For one Dayz never really had a point to begin with. You start on a beach with a simple objective: survive. That is it. Down the line they added base building vehicles and what not and even traders depending on the mod (of a mod) you were playing, but there was still no point to this game beyond survive. Everything else you did was a secondary objective that you added or other players had you add but the game did not require it.

Even playing this alpha I feel like i am back on the beach of vanilla Dayz mod with only one objective: survive. Now because we are testers we get an added objective: break the game. That is what it means to be an alpha player to test the limits of the game so when it is released it is the best it can be, From what you have posted you are asking for vehicles and bases well it wouldn't matter is they were in the game there would be no point to get them outside what you decide is your personal objectives.

A short list of "Points"

Stock up on Ammo/supplies (most likely will mean nothing come release but still)

Create a team (the game isnt released yet so now is the time to find a good group that wont kill you for your beans)

Scope out base locations (Not sure how they will have it considering they said instance like areas but all i can go on is what they had in the other mods)

Practice avoid zombies (why waste ammo and risk death to zombies on a supply run come launch?)

Run around Cherno/Elektro as naked as the game would allow (grasping at straws but you got to enjoy the little things in life)

You can't just add bullets to a broken gun and expect to play around with it, same goes for games; the latter needs to be fixed first.
