Pending Changelog: Experimental Branch: 0.42.116002

Recommended Posts

FYI this game will never be finished, they are struggling to push to stable even once a month. It will have way past its sell by date before it even comes close. I love how people are excited for stuff like underground labs/creating their own infection, in what world do these people live in? and don't even entertain the possiblilty of a console port.

I'd love to know your sources.....unless you don't have any and you are making it all up!!!??

Well, I think he's wrong but here many of us fear that what he thinks might be true.

We just hope he's wrong because he has no sources and we try to forget this possibility, as fans, but...I would lie saying that I never thought about it in the last 2 months. What we miss to regain faith are concrete points on the core functions missing: not one has been added since alpha testing release - and I'm not complaining, just stating.

I mean, 3 and 2 weeks ago they were looking into persistent objects...then no more news, even in the last devblog. Delaying is normal, but missing information should not be. These things can create doubts...

don't even entertain the possiblilty of a console port.

Who, of the PC players, even gives a damn about console port??

If anything, many PC folks believe that console port would be bad for DayZ.

The speed of development might not be the fastest one these days, but we all have been warned about Beta no sooner then end of this year....

I agree no PC player cares but the devs still find time to drop it into conversation which is just rediculous.

We have been warned about the Beta being no sooner than the end of the year (yeah right) but any decent developer wouldn't abuse that sentence and keep their fans in the dark 95% of the time and just push absolute garbage when (if) an update takes place.

They would be better off not having a scheduled maintenance period "every" wednesday and just pushing whenever. Along with that just scrap any social interaction if they can only muster it after an update was "scheduled" to have taken place.

you do have to wonder will the standalone ever be finished before the whole fun core of it is still here.

what was great fun awesome we done in the mod two years ago. i sit here waiting patiently hoping that the next patch comes and ill be suprised then it comes and its more hats or none game changing items.

im a long time dayz sa supporter i really want it to succeed sales wise it has but i fear the actual game has just not been done soon enough or to the best it could of been. the team isnt progressing fast enough and is basically just making items we have mostly 2 years ago for free prettier.

i hate to even type this but unless the big dev team pull the stops out by the time they get the project done most people will of moved on and be playing free modded version which seem to progress faster than paid professionals. that is mindfucking just thinking about that a couple of modders can achieve more in less time than 30 plus professionals.

so in short time to get the work out done and stop trying to implement none important objects!

thing is arma 3 mods has some great fresh stuff happening does that matter to the BI  team nope ! thats the thing people will just go play them theyll be established get better a faster rate meanwhile dayz is pumping out none esential items while all the core features are missing. dean knows he cant do it by chritmas or achieve much more than the mod has thats why he is moving on.

we have 9 months to get vehicles, hunting, phsyics , base building and other key features out working and tested and yet we cant even get basic features out on time.

at the current work rate i cant see how this will be done.

so currently we are sat here playing a buggy less content mod which isnt moving anywhere.

devs you might not like this statement but come on ! pick your rate up get this stuff out and cracking !

I am more optimistic. Hunting and phsyics are very close as I viewed the youtube video. I like very much the game and I really hope that everything will be ok.

As I see it, a mod can get away with being buggy and glitchy. But a proper game, created by a real studio aiming to sell their product for money, cannot. That's why it's going slow. If this can be called slow.

In my personal opinion it's moving forward pretty fast. And delays are pretty commonplace in this business, so I don't really mind that. I've got more important things to do than play games, so a delay really just force me to do the things I must do instead of procrastinating and playing instead.

I say Hat's Off to the whole team. They've been more than fair with us; we all had a choice to go for it or not.

If folks want to gripe, they outta send hate mail to Sega (not Creative Assembly) for righteously f*cking up Total War Rome II. Here, give us your hard-earned bucks for a messed up, buggy game and shut the f*ck up, please.

I can't see any dev from Sega creating a thread where folks can read about changes and what's up and respond.

Bohemia & Mr. Hall not only tries to give it's community a voice, they actually listen. Again, Hat's Off!

Yep... too bad no one has decided to sue the shit out of them... That game is just beyond f'd up and people accept it. That's the messed up part. No wonder publishers don't care... it's because WE don't care. I also say WE because no matter how much I may not like what they're doing to US, unless everyone else is onboard with not accepting shit for a validly signed, money exchanged, contract, nothing will change. And that folks, is OUR fault.

EDIT: Not off my soap box yet... Sega/Creative Assembly is a touchy subject with me :( ...

The real issue with this is, that all a publisher needs to do, is compensate the buyer... whether that's give them a refund (for a measly $60), a credit, or coupon code to prevent any sort of lawsuit. So, as long as that gamer's been shut up... they can continue to sell us CRAP. It's a business practice that needs to be stopped... PERIOD.

How is this relevant to BIS or Dean? It is extremely relevant, depending on the game's release. What this means to US, is that we need to stop giving BIS, the DayZ team, or Dean a hard time when stuff doesn't work. The game is in ALPHA, which theoretically shouldn't even be for public consumption of any sort. Everyone that bought the game accepted that it will run like ASS basically. If you complain like an entitled little biotch, then stop playing and come back when the game has been released for the general use public.

How does this relate to Sega/CA? Well, let's just say it's a nudge to the DayZ developers to not follow suit like they did with Arma 3. Shoddy release that it was. Test this game, don't let downers that bitch about how slow things are going get you down, and DO IT PROPERLY. Let those that are actually testing the game give you feedback, listen if you like, implement what you can, don't implement what you can't because you know you are limited by this clunky engine.

DO IT RIGHT BIS/DEAN! And don't over-extend yourselves. From what I'm seeing in the dev tracker and videos, it looks like they want to implement all this crazy stuff (which would definitely be cool to have) but my gut says that the engine DayZ Standalone runs on is EXTREMELY limited bandwidth wise. So... stay on track and stay with what you know works.

Don't get me wrong. I have loyalty towards the CA people for their Total War series (most of them) and I love Rome II... even as it is. But I haven't played it in two months and that's a shame. It had so much potential. DayZ has the potential and I have faith that they are hard at delivering it in full.

Sega, btw, is also one of the few corps that's engaged with the Content ID in YouTube and are being real shits about it.

I'll probably be sued by them for my posts here. >rolls eyes<

 Enuff with my off-topic posts...

I´d lika a late beta. That means they have more time for a lot of yummy features.

Hey man, ill save you the hassle and tell you now that there will be no update tomorrow, or this week for that matter. You will get official confirmation of this tomorrow sometime after the update is supposed to have been pushed

To tell the truth mate I fully expect a delay with 0.42...

Given the fact it was only released Friday night it will not have given them much time to test 0.42 and fix the issue they had with 0.37..

But there is always hope lol...

Don't get to annoyed with them mate, it's extremely common in Alpha to have delays and trust me the Devs would like to get their updates out on time, saves them all the hassle of listening to folks like me and you.. Lol...

Thank for the reply mate..

All the best...
