Have I found the unlucky M4A1 or what...

Recommended Posts

Yesterday my friends and I was in Elektro for a gentleman's game of "Bash the bandit".

I was up on the lower hill (The one with the bench at the tree.) with my M4A1 and my friend with his Mosin, we had a bandit come up on us and he shot my friend and my friend went "unconscious". I came out of the grass and shot this bandit twice in the head and once in the throat, he went down, then I decided I would drill five extra shots point blank into his skull, just for safety sake, lol...

I went to wake my friend back up with his medical device, and before I could finish, the same guy, that I shot not once, not twice, but a total of eight times, somehow magically got up, and killed me....

Please fellow M4A1 users, explain to me how the heck he did this....

I shot a guy point blank twice with a sawed off, don't think I hit him once, he then killed me.  Maybe there are blanks. :)

A delay?  Jesus this game is a mess.   Counterstrike from 10 years ago had near perfect controls and almost zero sync problems.

That's because CS didn't have to sync 40 players, a lot of zeds and a lot of loot on a 225 square miles map.

Bingo.  Plus it's an entirely different engine, running completely different architecture.  CS was Half-Life, which was Quake.  BSP is a radically different format to how Arma formats the game.  BSP is excellent for very close, very small maps/spaces.  Counterstrike maps were completely enclosed and sealed, and any open outdoor spaces were essentially well-dressed indoor spaces to simulate any kind of depth.  Apples and oranges.  To name but a drop in the bucket of differences.

Afaik they limited the radius to an unknown size so players will only get info of what's happening in their vicinity.

Or you just suck and think you hit him but instead all shots missed. It happens in tense situations.

I don't believe so, I seen the shots hit him, and the blood gushing out of his head...

Then it was somebody else that shot you.

I was knocked unconscious three times yesterday. Once through a glitched jail door in Green Mountain that I couldn't shoot through but my target on the other side could, once in Balota's airstrip when I popped into a hangar where three guys were laying prone in the back waiting to snipe passersby, and once when a guy ran up to me who I mistook for my friend (we all look the same these days) put about twenty 5.56mm rounds into my body.

All three times I should have died, no questions asked. All three times I survived with a ruined shirt and pair of pants. Anyway, my point is, it's not your gun, it's the current damage system that is being tweaked. I've dropped countless people in the last week in random fights here and there only to see at least 3/4 of them pop back up before I can get to their bodies.

I've had this happen, sometimes I just assume I didn't hit or just ruined the pistol in his vest or whatwver , sometimes you're sure you got a kill but until there is a kill message we can't really tell. I like to make excuses for lags though glitches down the stairs? Bad luck people trip. Got axed by somebody you unloaded in? He fought through the pain just to die seconds later. (I've been shot it hurts but you could swing an axe before shock sets in)

Do people not know what a player looks like alive versus dead?

Its very clear if you just look at them.

If they are not dead, put a bullet in their head until they are. Their body will turn all "ruined" looking when they actually die.

Here is how it all went down, and I saw him very clearly.

We where up on the small hill with the bench beside the tree.

We came under fire by this dude, he came up around the hill and shot my friend and my friend went unconscious.

I sprang up out of the grass and shot him (I seen the shots hit.) he collapsed, I then went over, and shot him 5 additional times from a foot away, directly in the back of the skull (I seen blood spurt out after each shot.) I took this as enough to kill anyone.

Went to wake up my friend, and just as it said I was finished waking him, I turned around just in time to see the dude stand up and unload his gun into my body, killing me obviously.

I didn't shoot the rest of his body because I was attempting to help a few friends gear back up after dying earlier, and didn't want to ruin his gear set, so it was still useable.

Sorry for going on about this, and I am happy their doing damage modifications to things...

Isn't pulse checking in experimental? This'll solve everything once it goes to stable.
