Crash to destkop, game minimizes

Its not just the gtx 250, having the same problem with my gtx 650 since the last update and I have the latest NVidia drivers.  It had never happened before this last update and I had played for 150 hrs and no crash to desktop.  It is a random event for me. I can play for 3 hrs and nothing other times it can crash after 10 mins.

okay so it`s seems it`s not related only to 200 series ?..

 

 

are this going to be fixed in upcoming updates ?

Sorry for spamming again, but will some admin say something about that are this going to be fixed , is it even possible to fix it is there any chance ? 

 

 

EDIT: found out when the minimize thing happens you press left shift and the - on numpad and type flush and the drivers reset and you don`t have to turn off the game
Still it`s not a fix but faster then turning off and turning back on and waiting for the spawn time ..

Also, I've been bugging out less once I've added the -window command in the launcher properties.
Still isn't a fix but helps a lot when it's time to -FLUSH.

when you do the flush thing, and when you want to see your gear , can you see numbers of ammo or direct chat ? because it dissapear for me , i see the ammo but not the numbers..

Having the same issue. Have a GTX 560ti. Only started happening after the last patch.

 

When I get minimized I get a kernel error saying that the display driver has failed and restarted successfully or something along those lines. It doesn't stay up for very long.

 

Read some stuff on the Geforce forums. Seems like it could be cause by a number of things. Overheating, insufficient PSU, bad drivers, different watts / volts, etc. Seems like its not just the graphics card but a combination of stuff that causes "TDRs". Some sorta of windows thing that was supposed to get rid of having so many Blue Screens of Death.

 

Read about some people fixing the issue by using old Geforce drivers. Specifically 295.73. Going to try this now. I will report back.

I get this too! I'm using an Asus HD 6850 graphics card.

UPDATE: Got to a point where it looked and acted like it was going to crash, froze for a few seconds and then carried on as normal. So I have not crashed as of yet after setting my geforce drivers to version 295.73.

Almost every time I play I'm crashing to desktop. Sometimes bluescreen, sometimes the game just minimizes w/audio still going. I only got bluescreened twice and never thought to write down the errors. It is a video driver issue though Im sure.

Have the same issue. Using GTX 550 TI. I thinks its my powersupply. Try to change your powersupply. oh btw i fix it by underclocking my vcard/ from 980 to 970core clock. And its run fine. :)

hmm i have 2 powersupplies in my pc lol :D 
but, it`s not up to that, drivers are f**** up..

 

i`m not going to put my drivers to old one, maybe the next patch fixes the game i will wait untill that , (not playing now )
if it does not repair maybe i`ll change back to old versions
but untill then ppl who play use  -FLUSH

id suggest setting your vram in graphics settings to match your card, rather than auto. i have a 1gb card yet it moved up to 2gb somehow and my screen went blank, 

maybe try older drivers like fish suggested?  I have a gts450 which is a really old card and it usually handles fine

i TOLD YOU USE SHIFT - (On numpad) AND TYPE IN FLUSH 

and it will reload yoour game and you don`t have to turn it off.. 

 

Now something else: the new patch did not fixed this glitch, but when i use flush, i can`t see numbers on ammo how much i have and i can`t see direct chat or any notification

Is there any fix for that ?

Hey guys, thought i'd share i have the same problem too.

i7 920 @4Ghz
Gtx 560 ti 1Gb
6Gb G-Skill Trident @1600
Win7 64bit

My game minimizes too, quite randomly, sometimes not at all, sometimes after 10 minutes, freezes for a second, than desktop, game running in the background, sounds playing, able to move etc, but can't bring it back up.
I haven't recieved the drivers stopped working message yet, in fact i haven't recieved any error message yet.
Flushing works, but as others have mentioned, texts go missing, numbers in inventory, the chat in general, texts on maps etc, so it's not really a solution.
i bought the game only a few days ago, so i can only confirm that this happened before and after the latest patch(0.42.116181).
Also, i'd like to set the value for my graphics memory, but the chosable options are all blank and black, i can choose whichever i like, but can't see what i've chosen.

HDD: BFG 450 watt (Above recommended power for system setup)

Motherboard: MSI|Z77A-G41 Z77 LGA1155 R

 

I have not tried the left "Shift" + numpad "-" then type "flush" as of yet. I will update my post if this does at least bring the game back up. The problem I have with this issue, is that it is pretty much the only way I die in the game. I DO understand this is alpha and these issues will happen, just an annoyance right now. Any insite from an Admin would be much appreciated. DayZ Stand Alone is still by far, one of the best games I have ever played. That is saying a lot, as I'm a thirty-five year old Computer Network Specialist, that has gamed it up for more then three decades now. I will help and do what ever I can for the developers to keep this game moving in the right direction for a successful launch.

 

Update: The left "Shift" + numpad "-" then type "flush" does work. I just used it to prevent being killed by zombies. I then got to a safe place to log competely out of the game and come back in to get the text and tooltips back. It was just hard to determine the qualities of the items with out the tooptips, otherwise I could keep playing fine.

 

Update 3/27/2014: Seems that if you don't catch the game as soon as it crashes to desktop, you are out of luck for the "flush" fix. I'm still trying to fix the problem. I have heard that it might be a video card heat issue. Seeing how all the graphics do not go down, I find this very unlikely.
