My character's been alive since I got the game on the 24th December, Even posted a photo of him to Steam to mark his 50th day.

I simply don't believe that people have. The bugs, the hoppers, the ghosters and the hackers would have seen those characters dead. Let's not forget that characters were all completely wiped when one of the patches was released.

My character has been alive for like 48+ hours now, and this is only becouse I know how to play standalone now, don't go to big cities, miliatary areas or airfields or stairs or ladders etc.

yeah id be surprised if any ones character survived a complete hive wipe....But who knows unlikely ,stranger things have happened .

 

Frosti i am just under you(43hours) but had some close calls thanks to going to larger towns mil bases ( didnt need to though can get everything you need in smaller places unless your an m4 man havent found clips for that outside a mil base the gun yes but the clips nope ..

The game is meant to be played on full servers, not skulking around 3/40s. Anyway, I can stay alive indefinitely if I want to, I just, y'know, go looking for trouble.

Honestly, I play on 35+ players only servers.

 

The point is on 40/40 server, 38 players stay on the coast or is in the airfields and sometimes you meet the odd one in Pustoshka.

 

Only time I've meet people actually exploring the map (for food...) was on experimental servers.

I can back this up. I died twice quickly when I was first learning the food and drink system. But since then havent died, and never had a wipe. I did read that about 5000 didnt get wiped in the first "full" one so I thought I was just lucky. But there have been what 2? more since then and I still aint lost my toon. 

 

I just stick to the one server all the time, maybe thats it, who knows. Oh and I always wait a few hours or maybe till the next day before playing a new patch :)

I love when people say ive been alive for 50 days. Do you only play for 2 hours every second Sunday? Or 8 hours everyday?

I've never had a character wiped either and have been playing since before Xmas.

i just lost a 30 plus hour character to a glitch and then falling 5 stories to her death

hopefully not once server numbers rise and food levels ( even when respawning comes in ) getting lower it will push more people north not to mention hunting and fishing the cities will be over populated for food resources.. Then ill hopefully see more in my back yard.. had a few encounters at zelengorsk though and green mountain.. plus got pinned in a camo tower at the nwaf was lucky to walk away from that one...

Funnily I encounter more people on low populated servers than I do on full ones.

If you want to, you can live forever. Low to mid pop servers, stick to the woods. Only hit the quiet towns, etc. there isn't a significant challenge outside of other players.

Now if you say you have lived that long while also killing one hundred men, that's something to brag about.

lol 64man experimental servers have only been around a few days and you have survived that long in them lol yeah right.....
