Title says it all.  I think the most bizarre thing I've seen is zombies attacking nothing and bambies just swimming out into the ocean, out to the horizon, never to come back.

A few days ago, I was playing with a friend on an almost empty server, in fact, there was only one other player. My friend decided to go loot the NW airfield, while I felt the urge to explore the far north of the map a bit, just to see what might be added there later. It was already evening and it started to dawn as I entered one of the bigger northern forests. Far away from any sort of civilisation, I decided to search for some berries, as I hadn't found some so far. Meanwhile, the last rays of light had vanished and I stood there in complete darkness, trying to get something that was not "you haven't found a single berry" from a bush. This didn't work out, so I thought I might as well head even futher north, turned around and turned on my flashlight.

 

Directly in the face of another player standing there in utter darkness.

I panicked and ran away. Looking back, I saw that the other guy had also tuned on his flashlight and was slowly walking deeper into the woods. He didn't even bother to run.

 

I pressed "p" and saw that even now, there was only on other player on the server. This experience really shocked me and taught me to never expect to be alone. I know this sounds like something I made up, but honestly, it happened despite being incredibly unlikely.

Some kind of "pyramide" in the middle of nowhere, covered with the normal "grass" texture. Kind of strange, maybe a bug.

I've had this happen on several occasions. It's tense as fuck because neither person want's to die, so you just...slowly....sidestep around eachother...insisting ye both turn around and leave at the same time. So far I haven't died in such a situation.

Also, to the dude with the bananas, easily the best thing I have seen come out of this game, absolutely hysterical.

Encountering a Player that is just standing there, no clothes, and bleeding.

 

Attempts to communicate yield no response. The head continues to look around.

 

Attempts to kill these strange folk only result in wasted ammunition/axe swings. Every hit impacts, and starts a new blood spurt, but they don't go down. 50 axe swings later and the character model has so many blood spurts that they don't fit on his body any more and they just spawn into thin air around him. Eventually, there were so many that I was essentially taking a blood shower.

 

Seen it at least 4 different times.

Running through the hills at Balota airfield, looking one direction and just as I turn around I realise that there are 2 guys just crouching there, mosins with scopes over their shoulders, I panic and fire off 10 SKS rounds missing both of them, one of the guys takes his Mosin out and shoots me, not killing me or making me bleed just makes my screen go grey and blurry.

 

I reload and shoot him in the head, his friend still crouching next to him probably AFK, so I plant one in his head for good measure.

 

Was only 9 people on the server and happened to bump into these 2 guys just sat there literally 10 yards ahead of me ha

I used to play Battlefield 2 competitively for a clan and I swear one of our servers was haunted. I'd be on their on my own and hear a buggy rev up in the distance and other noises. I didn't feel alone.

 

As for DayZ...weirdest thing I have seen so far is a guy's head poking through a wall whilst he was glitching a view of his surroundings.

Weirdest thing Ive seen, which isnt that impressive really, is a group of people having a swim race to Elektro...They must have had a lot of time on their hands.
