Guns are really weak now

I like that people fall uncoucious more now.

 

You can torture them.

how... there screen is black and probably either respawned or logged out lol

Are you kidding me?  With my Mosin I one-shot a few different guys who shot at me for no reason.  You must be a horrible shot.

Bambi's on the coast don't count as fully geared players.

I see this in the patch notes:

- Systems: Damage was being equally applied to all objects inside inventory slot when shot/damaged (now items reduce the damage when they take damage)

I hit quite a few people in the chest today with my mosin. Not one died instantly. By the time u rack the mosin the guys are already running like hell to avoid the second shot. I think there should be a chance of knock down like in the mod when a zombie hits you, you fall to the ground for a slight second before u can get back up.

I loved the old Dayz mod damage model.

 

Nothing was as satisfying as shooting someone with a m24 at 800 m and then having them pass out immediately then seeing their friends trying to bandage them only to also get shot.

 

I would then have 2 people bleeding out on the ground who I would then shoot again when they returned from being unconscious.

If you were near Balota and shooting at people in the ATC, I was probably one of them.

Whoever actually did that broke my flippin' arm and made me quite sour.

killed 3 yesterday with m4 distance 400-450 meters. max shots per kill was 4. 1 seems allready hurt died direct on the first hit. so i like the damage modell. often hit player with 1 shot in chest or backpack. and they logged out. they didnt die but many items and clothes are lost :D

i just can tell you it can't be working as it is intended. you can't tell me your damn beans or rise or something like that can save you from a bullet. today i ran into some bad ass looking guy (we really crashed into each other running around a corner) and we started a firefight from about 1 meter away from each other. he sprayed his m4, i took 9 bullets from the sks into him (just spawned 10 min ago and that was all i had). fun fact the 9th hit finally made him unconscious and i had to hit him three times with the axe in the head until he was dead -.-

by that time he was looking like a he is loosing about 10 liters of blood a second -.- maybe they should add a system to simulate blood pressure so that people have some effect when they lose to much blood simulating somehow a hypovolemic shock.

Not me. I stay away from Balota haha. Not sure how chest shots would make broken arm though. Would be cool if u could break ribs and stuff. Make it harder to run and get out of breath quicker.

I do like the idea of having items in your inventory damaged if they get hit or shot. However, it needs to have the system where not everything in your inventory gets destroyed. Example, if someone shoots me in the head, everything below that shouldn't be damaged. But if I have a backpack on and someone fills my back with lead, then items in said backpack should get damaged while everything below and some in your front pockets are undamaged, depending on the round used.

I shot a server hopper earlier today with 2 rounds from an sks to the chest..... he went down, 3rd round to the head.....time for him to re-gear.

Damage model seems fine imho. I shot a zombie from 300m with an m4 in the head a little later (lucky shot) and he kept coming..... pretty sure it was just desync though, the 2nd round put him down.

Did they really change damage? Haven't noticed anything.

 

Hopefully it doesn't go down the path of the mod where it took 11 makarov shots to kill someone. All weapons should be deadly.

Ballistic helm, full TTsKO, khaki tactical vest.

Press vest would allow for a save. Are you sure it was a tactical vest and not just a standard military vest. Those vest offer no protection.

Not been shot at since the new patch, but I can say that zombies can hit me a fuckload of times and it won't even make me bleed. 

 

Less about the guns and more about the damage parameters I'd say.

I was shot by three people yesterday. I fell unconscious (no bleeding) for maybe 2 minutes. I woke up with a badly damaged ballistic helmet, a ruined UK camo vest, and a ruined revolver inside the vest. My screen was blurry and desaturated, but not horribly so.

 

The guns need fixing for sure.

 

Oh, and my ballistic helmet was back to pristine 15 minutes later. I already bug reported that, but it's so weird and random...

I think it's a bug with the gear and how it takes damage when you get hit.
Right now our items/clothes are essentially acting as armor.

I see a lot of these threads. I can see people surviving a few more bullets then usual but overall i blasted someone away with a shotgun the other day, he was fully geared so anyone saying that does not work is telling lies. Also one shotted two people with a mosin as well so anyone saying it takes 3-4 shots is overexaggerating, maybe to the legs but 4 shots to the body, i dont think so.

Someone recently posted here about some tests they had made, where they found out that at that distance the target would have to face the shooter in order to hear the shot. If they didn't not, then the shot would appear silent to the victim. Most likely going to be fixed with the general sound overhaul to be expected.

Has anyone noticed worse accuracy while aiming guns? Right now every time I aim, the dot starts walking all over the place as if I've just been running around... my guy is in perfect health, prone, and bipods do nothing to help this. Am I experiencing a glitch or is the unsteady aim a new game mechanic? It's very frustrating since it will be almost impossible to kill >450m if this continues.

You probably have a broken arm.

 

However, compared to the arma series, the aim is stupidly steady in DayZ, while it should be the other way around.
