Okay... I hope I've got your attention. I was making a point, you are not playing the game wrong, as that is not possible.

 

This is a generic reply to all threads stating how YOU SHOULD play the game.  "You are an idiot not to KoS", "The game is only about PvP", "The game should be all about PvE, stop killing me", "KoS ruins the fun", "You're an idiot to help new spawns", "You shouldn't trust anyone", etc etc etc.  Do these sound familiar?  Yeah i thought so.. several threads a day like these.

 

So you think the game should be played a certain way?  Let me make a very important point regarding this.  If we all played the same way, as many of these threads say we should, the game would only realise a tiny fraction of its potential.  If nobody KoS what would be the point of being cautious, where would the tension be?  If everyone did always KoS there would be little to no interaction between players.  All the different way of playing rely on each other to make them fun, rewarding & challenging.

 

All the different play styles, the different player goals, player personalities and interpretations of how the game should be played are the key to the success of Dayz.  Curtail this and you kill the game.

 

So.. stop tell us how the hell to play a true sandbox game.  There are no right and wrong way ways.. just Dayz wayz!

This is basically they way I look at it, I've played literally every playstyle possible. Hero, Kos, Bandit, Highwayman, Hermit, spasticyolorush. You name it, I've probably done it If not in SA in the mod.

How many games can you play the same "level" on for hundreds if not thousands of hours? And yes, By level I mean map. ;)

Agree almost completely except there is a way to play it wrong and it has nothing to do with style if your hacking cheating exploiting your playing it wrong lol other than that everything goes i even admire the runners of the coast in there undies makes me laugh every time i am playing serious and i see groups of undies runners....

While playing DayZ, please ensure to not behave in any way that would elicit a negative emotional response from another player.

 

Reason: It would not be good if they realised that their idea of fun/morality is not shared with absolutely everyone else.

the only way you can play DayZ wrong is to not value your life, and you can't value your life until you take ownership of it, responsibility for it, once you take ownership of your life you meet others who do as well, and boy do they value them. Then?  they also start to take ownership of the map.. then you are playing DayZ "Right" imo.

This might be your idea of "doing it right", but some people find running around in underwear and harrashing other players "the right way" :)

Thats the beatuy about this game, nothing is right or wrong, its all subjective to the situation you get yourself into :)

hey i'm all for people running round in their underwear harassing other players, its when they come crying to the forums that they were killed even though they had nothing, that's when it starts to bother me if you can't even hold on to a worthless life, let alone get healthy, well you're playing the game wrong.. imo..

There is NO right!

 

Nothing is more satisfy than spawning as a new spawn after just dying with a fully kitted, month old, character that just got KoS in the back.. taking your clothes off any running with the wind in your hair waiting to die.. you have nothing to loose, it feels so liberating!  You should try it. ;)
