DayZ should have an inventory similiar to CoP

How about something similiar to this? Weapon slots. (on your back) armor slot, headgear slot, gps, (not the f1f2f3f4 part) and the part under the f1f2f3f4 part could be for tools etc.

Trying to insult someone as "dumb meme 4chan user" while using a pedo pony as picture doesn't really make sense.

Anyways, this looks like the average inventory, nothing special. Something similar to the DayZ mod inventory would be alright.

Although that is a nice inventory system, I prefer the current one in DayZ. The basics of it is brilliant. It just needs a bit of texture-work :)

The inventory itself isn't bad, but the one have now has potential to be upgraded. I see no point in reconstructing a new inventory system, now if this were REALLY REALLY early developement and they didn't have an inventory system this would be a good idea.

Inventory system is working fine IMO. Only issues atm is some combos with items, but has nothing to do with inventory layout.

No need to reinvent the wheel.

edit: The whole per element slots is nice and I like to see them separated instead of being one big pool of spaces.

Trying to insult someone as a "pedophile" while using an avatar from an old kids show that doesn't have anything to do with DayZ doesn't really make sense.

When i saw that photo, the first thing i thought about was Diablo lol....

But no, for the simple reason, they already spend a HUGE amount of time on the inventory, to get it to what it is now, so starting from scratch with it, again, would only delay the game even further, and it would not add anything vital to the game it self tbh.
I actually like what we have now, feel its very fitting to have to place the items in the actual containers, instead of a BIG box.

if another game does something well then you'd be a damn idiot not to cop... borrow.. it from them.

refusing to do so just to "stay original" is the most retarded thing i'v ever heard.

Ahhh stalker, its a good inventory system but I like the one we have already although it needs some tweaking and jazzing up a bit. One thing I cant stand and annoys me every time is when you try to drag something into your backpack but you need to scroll down to get there, only you cant do this while you have the item ready to place in. So you TAB drag item from vicinity but.. ahh shit need to scroll, place item back in vicinity scroll to backpack and drag item from vicinity again <_<

Really? Who gives a shit what photo you have as your avatar. Mine is Alexei Stukov from Starcraft Brood War which has nothing to do with Dayz at all. Both of you need to stop arguing. As for your idea, of course borrowing some parts of it would be nice, but IMO Dayz's inventory system right now works pretty nice just a few glitches and bugs here and there though.

Mmmmm, this looks pretty much exactly the same.

But it doesn't have the character.

I would prefer it got some cool textures and the character in the screen moves as he is in the world (I play hardcore, but like to see my character).

The inventory is one of the things that isn't in need of fixing.

I love the "pocket" system and how each article of clothing has it's own set of slots based off of the type of clothing you have.

The only changes I would like to see done to the inventory is separate the slots based off of individual pocket size instead of grouping them all together.

This thread explains what I mean:
