13celticsboy 2 Posted January 11, 2014 Let me start off by saying I love this game and the mod I would pay 60 dollars for it no matter what stage it's in just to support it, it's the best idea for a game that I have ever seen me being a zombie fan and I have defended it sooo much but there is a real bad bad problem right now....... When people always spawned at Balota (sorry for misspelled names) it was pretty bad yes horrible you might even say, but you could still find a gun and still defend yourself. But now only spawning near Elektro and in between Elektro and Berizeno, its crazy stupid I spawned in 3 times in the same spot, 2 other times near Elektro and all 5 times I ran around 100 meters and died either by guns or dumb a**es with axes. No one is friendly no one even tries to talk to you they'll just kill you and these spawns near an airfield? I can't even play its so bad please please fix it I have 61 hours on it please fix this so I can have many more, and yes to the people that are going to shout "ITS IN ALPHA!" I know this is simple very simple to fix. Just make the spawns random, any where along the map in the middle the very right just different place not just a set of about 4 spawns stretched out along 1000 meters! Thank you for your effort on this game and the mod :D.

gray-z@hotmail.co.uk 84 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) Spawn areas are fine. You will always find spawn campers regardless of where they are at. No-one is close to high value military installations. First thing to do when spawning in is run inland as fast as you can. Problem solved. Edit: Beaten to it  Edited January 11, 2014 by G24HAM

InflatedLyric 39 Posted January 11, 2014 At coast the other day, I tried to check for backpack. Ran into a guy with a bat. Despite avoiding him, he followed me and started swinging. I ran away, he looked for an easier mark. Made my way inland. Today I am kitted out, thinking about finding some guy swinging a bat on the coast. I speculate he has died many times, still picking up scraps and forcing engagements immediately. He probably dies constantly and hates the spawns.

Baarn 53 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) I think the spawns are OK if you don't stay there too long. The problem you mention with getting instantly killed is due to the fact that there is not much to do after you are fully kitted. There is no reason to roam the streets any longer, the zombies are no threat, you can't build anything, you can't store anything. The only thing you need is food and you can simply "trade" your ammo for food somewhere along the coast. There IS friendly interaction, but you should have ways to defend yourself. I met a lot of people and handed them stuff I didn't really need (drinks, food, spare compass, medical stuff). Someone with a melee weapon shouldn't be able to kill you, don't let him come close and tell him to stash his weapon. Stay careful, a fist to your head can knock you out pretty quick, too.You really need to be extra extra cautious if you want to survive. So far hiding and observing turned out good for me. I created the character I am playing last Friday, currently I play 6 hours a day (I am addicted to the game atm ;) ), I've killed several people, armed or unarmed, myself being in a team or alone. I also ran away from fights, two days ago I fought two guys in Solnichniy while my buddies were in the quarry concerned with a handcuff problem. I shot at those guys and draw their attention away from the quarry. Ran several hundred meters and shot again, then took cover in the woods until they gave up the search and left town. You don't need to take a kill out of every fight, running away can be better, especially if it saves your life. Edited January 11, 2014 by Baarn
Gdaddy22 299 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) So ? I just spawned at Solnichy, I ran to Berezino, I found mosin with ammo, I ran all the way to Stary Sobor, I got some more gear and now I'm on my way to Zelenogorsk. You want to spawn on top of m4 ? too lazy to go somewhere else ? Edited January 11, 2014 by Gdaddy22

Thank you for your effort on this game and the mod :D.The fact that you get killed so often has to do with the server's population. If you're in a server with 40 f**king people it's pretty obvious that there will be spawn campers dude... Just avoid the coast. But it is true that they need to fix stuff. I wish they just did some small regural updates with some bug fixes every week or something.

You're probably one of the asses who is just sitting alone the coast killing bambis aren't you?Stop repeatedly doing the same thing that gets you killed repeatedly. Guy with an axe? Run away...easy. Guy with gun? Take less obvious routes and avoid lingering in coast towns...or just join lower pop servers. I was running around Kamyshova for a few hours last night on a full server and there were bandits camping on the road outside of town. They must have expended over 60 rounds trying to shoot me because the idiots couldn't hit anyone that wasn't running in a straight line. I kept circling around them, with nothing but underwear and a bat making fun of them.So yeah, it's not impossible to not get killed.

You're probably one of the asses who is just sitting alone the coast killing bambis aren't you? I have to say, emphatically.. You're doing it wrong. I've never been killed as a fresh spawn, and I only play in near to capacity servers, at peak hours. I also respawn quite a bit. You're either exaggerating to make your point seem more legit, or just terrible at survival. I'm thinking it's a little from column A, and a little from column B. BonnyBrown 28 Posted January 11, 2014 The spawns mainly suck because there's nothing to do in the game yet. People say go inland, but there's no reason to go inland, in fact you're more likely to find player interaction on the coasts so it's a disincentive. Once they add vehicles, random events, heli crashes, base building, tent, and stuff like that it will probably be better because then you actually have a chance to find something to do along the way while playing running simulator. Also bigger servers will probably help once that happens because then you might actually meet people inland when you go there rather than the empty wasteland the game is today.
Coolwhip 1 Posted January 11, 2014 I agree with OP. I don't enjoy the current spawn system. The previous spawn system where you could spawn anywhere along the coast I liked much better. It gave opportunities to everyone and provided for everyone's playing style. Like, if you want to go immediately to Balota or you wanted to go inland as fast as possible and survive where its a bit safer, it was both possible. Don't get me wrong. It's good the team tries stuff, tests stuff and generally experiment a bit. This is just my feedback to that, is all. So in short, I liked the 'Hunger Games' spawning style better, where you could immediately go for military gear at Balota (if you happen to spawn there) or you just turn the other way and run into the woods.
Phantasm (DayZ) 57 Posted January 11, 2014 If you're too stupid to get off the coast, expect to die repeatedly. It shouldn't matter where you spawn, your first goal should be to go inland. I would prefer Solnichy over Elektro/Cherno any day of the week, Berezino is one of the best spots to gear up. So many people are hung up on Balota, it's like watching sheep run towards wolves, then they complain about it....
