As title says, what do you think about a global character reset after server hopping get's fixed?

Of course is unfair for the people who spent lots of hours to gear themselves, but it's also unfair for the new players (and the other players who die)

Regards

Everything will get reset over and over again before we leave alpha. Might as well get used to it.

I voted no, For the sole purpose of it being DayZ, I can't count how many times I've seen people get hit, and leg it into the forest, only to bleed out, or get eaten by a zombie. That's a body you'll never find.

Unnecessary, people die all the time.

Maybe it's just because my playstyle has changed, but I've died twenty times more than I ever did in the mod, already.

On the other hand I wouldn't mind it because, hey, I die all the time anyway!

I voted no, because I don't think it will be necessary.  You can die rather easily.  With that said, I really don't care if there is a wipe.  It doesn't take long to get geared out, and I don't even server hop.

Its not needed for that fix. Since people die so often anyways. Wipe or not doesnt matter to me. But it isnt needed for that fix..

The game is in alpha, the hive will be reset numerous times until it gets to beta, and then still many times until final release, get used to it.

ITT:  People saying, "No, because people can die easily anyway." and people saying, "It's alpha.  Get used to it! Derp, derp, haven't read the thread."

I'm waiting on someone to post saying they can't handle losing their stuff, so that the "It's alpha." crowd doesn't seem so out of touch.

Wipes are necessary. EVERY time any 'major' patch comes out. Remember this is alpher, AND we are not doing the 'testing' as testing means to the devs, that is to make a better game. The devs are running the testing. That requires things to be 'zeroed out' from time to time, to get 'clean' data from the patch.

It matters little what we 'the community' think about the wipes... really...

clear as mud?

I mean, we all die in this game eventually. It's not like they're going to keep that gear forever. More pressing is the body duping glitch which seems to be spreading.

Derp, you are aware that Max is a forum administrator, right? I'm sure he read the thread. Probably better than you did, in fact.
