Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

Recommended Posts

I'm new to this forum so forgive me if I am overstepping my bounds' date=' however I have seen people repeatedly ask / demand to know when this update is coming out so I'm just going to quote the FIRST post on this thread.

Target date is Monday. Backup is for Saturday during offpeak time.

Now what I gather from this, as since the patch didn't go live on monday (the 25th), it will be tomorow (saturday (the 30th, which is the saturday after monday if you want me to dumb it down for you) which he posted LAST WEEK, on the first post on this thread.

edit: I put the quote in red for those with reading difficulties.

That was a week ago. Don't post if you don't know what you're talking about.

It was posted on FRIDAY the 22nd of june, announcing the update for the following monday, with a backup scheduled for off peak time saturday (30th) if monday went wrong, which clearly from what rocket posted it did.

Don't tell me not to post when i'm right, if you have a problem with my post report it, otherwise shut up ok?

You KNOW you're right now?

I still go with what I said before, which was by backup he meant DATABASE backup.

Which means -

Backup Database Saturday (23rd), push update Monday (25th).

I too saw the stream' date=' and Rocket said playing that version just wasn't as fun after playing 1.7.2. I don't wanna be stuck playing the un-fun version

[/quote']

Now, now. It's not the "un-fun" version, it's the "less-fun" version. ;)

Well I guess we will see within the next 24 hours then wont we, I've been drinking so I really want to be rude to you, but instead I will just refrain from making the suggestion that you suck on anything and instead I will leave it and see if rocket releases today.

Even if he releases it tomorrow it doesn't mean that's what he meant originally.

Either way it doesn't make a difference, he'll release it when it's done.

Some attitude for being new on a forum.

---

Target date is Monday. Backup is for Saturday during offpeak time.

---

The estimate for the update was posted last Friday, and in my opinion that information is outdated. Since that did not happen, either some problems occurred, they added more features than intended or decided to more closed testing before releasing.

When 1.7.1.1 was release I recall a lot of crying about how they should not release updates on weekends. Because it could make the game in-playable blah blah blah

Until new information is given, I take it as there is no current estimated release time for 1.7.2

that is correct. he can release an update any time he wants, and has done it at the strangest hour before. his target was last monday, didnt happen, will come out when ready. if it is ready on a wed, hes not going to wait till sat to release. off peak has nothing to do with releasing update, it has to do with backing up the database. maybe if he would have reversed the order that he wrote it: update sat, release target monday, you guys would understand. if it comes out tomorrow, it is pure coincidence.

suppressor silences the noise of the gasses escaping the barrel.

Bullets are subsonic so there is no supersonic snap as they fly through the air.

That's layman terms by the way. It's probably a bit more complicated than that.

Essentially, yes, although the MP5SD doesn't use subsonic ammo, they share ammo with the standard MP5. The integrated suppressor on the SD version actually contains the gas expansion and prevents the bullet from reaching supersonic speed in the first place, from what I understand. So in reality the 2 variations on those shouldn't have separate mags.

Be patient, rockets probably his damnedest too get the update out as soon as possible. He's probably still working on a few fixes. But the bear trap idea did come a bit too early as there's still bugs with leg breaking and all that. I wish he would've done it later on in the future instead of going ahead and releasing it now.

* [FIXED] Too easy to break legs due to infected (reduced probability of leg damage, reduced amount of leg damage)

Yeah, you know what else he said he fixed? Zombies attacking/walking through walls.....

Based off his track record of "fixing" things, it'll actually be worse, just sayin'.

Your wrong :D Had you been following the thread from page 1 you would of known the quote from rocket has been unedited from 22 june, besides the new fixes he has added over the days etc.

I understand why you could get it confused, however I also understand why rocket has held the new update off for a week since this current version has been the most playable and enjoyable, sure there are issues etc but only time will fix that!

Also don't write back and argue the matter unless you have a quote from Rocket saying the Saturday (30th) or the Monday for which there is none!

Your fake predicted dates will mislead the greater community:)

Cheers mate

people won't want to make the investment if they hear the mod's on shakey ground. regardless if this is just a "mod" or "alpha"' date=' it is the driving force behind the current boom in Arma sales

[/quote']

the mod is on shakey ground, its alpha, and its still a test/experiment.

now i know rocket will not drop the mod just out of rage, but still its his very own decision to do with it whatever he wants, when he wants.

also, if rocket's absence of two days forces people to drop the copy of arma2 in their hands, i don't think i will miss them. point them to the next cod/bf3 release, for good measure so they won't think twice.

Probably the best thing for the game would be Rocket not burning himself out. Software takes time, he's not going to fix every bug and implement every suggestion in a weekend, and he needs those weekends as recharge time for all the pressure he must be under. It would also be good if he had other developers to share the load (I hope he does).

A fully evolved Day-Z is months to years worth of work, a marathon not a sprint, and that means conserving your energy and being realistic with the screaming fans as to how fast change will come.

i swear some of the fps improvements have already happened though. Im noticing considerable increased framerates throughout playing 1.7.1.5! It had upped somewhat at the beginning of it i think, up to around 35-40 fps when running in an open/wooded area. Now in the same spots in rocking 55-65. Its a nice noticable difference! New features will be nice, but on my ropey old rig im really enjoying the upping performance!

Cherno/elektro still frazzle my computer though...20 fps is pretty good then

god damn, guys, he is a real person, with real life, and there really is no need for rocket to show up everyday just to confirm he is infact still working on the mod.

SO FUCKING WHAT? WE WANT UPDATE.

Not releasing tonight guys' date=' sorry - I learned my lesson after the 1.7.1 debacle.

The bugs in the new system have been ironed out, but consequently the balancing is (again) all over the place. So tomorrow I need to spend some time adjusting the balancing, then we need to go through some serious closed testing.

Sorry guys, disappointing I know. But this means that I'll be able to squeeze some content in while it is being tested tomorrow. I'm off to sleep for a bit :)

This is from 6/26. They are trying everybody. He too needs some off time. Be patient and give them a chance to give us what we are asking for and for what works best.

True that, even in a decently sized town like Berezino also my frames completely die, then in the forest/little villages its perfect, but since its an alpha so only thing we can hope for is he gets out more optimization patches.

Even some people with high end rigs are getting jacked too.
