Brightness settings at night ruining this game!

It would be nice if people did not exploit the gamma option.

Now i know how to get this setting.

Make your gamma + brightnes at max AND disable clouds effect. Clouds makes the whole picture dark!

You are supposed to need a flashlight to see properly. Man I wish people would stop with this stupid gamma-trick. All these tips and tricks just ruin the game.

Gamma shouldn't even be able to turn up that high, everyone's doing it... So unfair for people like me who actually use flashlights... or lanterns... but if anything max the gamma out at 75% max.

They need to find a way to stop this.

DayZ at night is an amazing experience when played properly, and this just ruins it completely. I will continue playing as normal with little vision in the dark and rendering all trees and bushes and grass in the distance.

People who change the settings to make the game easier are missing the point of DayZ completely.

I like GreyZ. It gives me an old Romero vibe when I play.

Day time low on blood and night time gamma turned up. Black and white movie simulator :D

Flashlights get you killed. Gaslamps attracts killers for miles. My favorit passby. Plant a gasslamp im a house and wait for people with obvious bad intensions.

It doesn't help when it's always night time. When everyone else and their mom uses gamma night vision, why shouldn't I? Must I maintain some internet dignity by keeping it low? NOPE.

Honor.

Why is everyone such an idiot nowadays?

Everyone shoots on sight and i hate it but i have to shoot on sight so i dont get shot on sight... everyone turns gamma up so i have to turn gamma up so i dont have a disadvantage. Boohoo. Just do what YOU think is rigth and if it gives you a disadtvantage then be it so.

Sir,

I respect your honor as you must repect others' right to have fun in a VIDEO GAME in their own ways.

On a full moon it is pretty much that bright anyway. Problem isn't the brightness you can turn up the brightness all the way and still see nothing as long as shadows are enabled.

When you disable shadows you get what you see in OPs pic.

So force enable shadows.

I would agree with disabling the GAMA ninja warrior settings except the Flashlight  beam "cone" suck balls.  Why is it if I move up close to look at something the flashlight beam narrows to a pinpoint.  Flashlights dont act like that IRL.  Also there are no chem lights or road flares.... these need added in (I know Rocket is working this).

And the fact that 90% of my playtime is always "night time"... which gets old after awhile.

I prefer night time actually, the lack of colors and the lack of visibility add to the post apocalyptic feel.

That can't just make flashlights work like they do in real life. Light, for computers to simulate, is very complicated. The calculations needed to render a light-source go up exponentially as you make that light-source more realistic.

actually thats exactly what happens when you shine a flashlight on a wall and walk close to hit. the closer you get the smaller the beam..have you ever used one in real life lol?   never seen it go to a "pinpoint" on my game, but maybe the diamater of a can of pop. if it actually does that i dont think its normal

OP some monitors have better lighting/visuals in them, as well as variable desktop settings can get you to a bright darkness such as that. the standard is just upping your brightness/gamma, but if you want a visible darkness without that, try a Benq monitor, i never have to adjust my settings, and i can see in any game at night
