Limited copies of DayZ Alpha

Recommended Posts

So I remember a few months ago Rocket said that the the copies of the alpha (available for sale on Steam) will be limited to like 10000 or something like this. Is it true now? Does it apply?

I don't think so. Razor said earlier today that they will be opening up another 120000 server slots to "house" everybody.

Keys must be unlimited.

Nope!

I'll see if I can find the rocket quote (I THINK it was on reddit somewhere) about how this isn't really viable anyway but I can't even really remember anything being said about sales being limitied. If you could provide a source for that I would be happy boy. :)

Either way; tweets have been tweeted about how the playercount have reached far above 100000 (and I last checked earlier today, probably far more now) so this really can't be the case.

lol 150000 times 23.99 = Lambos in the bank, well done!

Almost 4 million euros.

Still Dean and his team don't get all the money. Worse, the dev team doesn't get more than 40% of the earnings, even less.

Anyways, I don't even remember when exactly he said that but I'm sure he said something about limited copies, can't remember how many. Would like to hear an answer from our cyan friends.

Hello there

There may have been casual chats about many things in the past, but unless one sees an official post or Press Release on it then assume its not true/promised etc.

I remember that too, but plans often change and it was just an idea that was being kicked around to open up testing while not overloading their ability to keep up.

GameSpot reported that 88,000 copies were sold in 12 hours, So i doubt it's limited.
