Can I Run DayZ Retail (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

I am not sure if my laptop hardware requirements are good enough to run DayZ  and I have looked into it but I rather get comments on what people think is best.

Here are my system hardware specs:

Processor Intel®

Video card Intel® HD Graphics

Pixel Shader 5.0

DirectX 11.2

RAM 3.9 GB

OS Windows 8.1

Free space 415.8 GB

Is it worth it? I am not fussy about graphic detail however FPS especially I would like to know if it meets standards.

CPU power is important, you need to give details.

GPU is also important but to a lesser degree.

Recommended System Specs

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2300 or AMD Phenom II X4 940 or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 or AMD Radeon HD 7750 with 1 GB VRAM or better

I'm afraid you will be disappointed and not able to run DayZ SA.

Yes but you may need to play with some of the graphics settings to get it just right.

Also just right in the Open land is totally different than Just right in Cherno/Elektro.

Read some of the Graphics Enhancement posts to get an idea of what to toy with.

Merged.

Your specs make no sense unless you include your monitor resolution, by the way.

Playing a game on a movie theater screen is not the same as playing it on a Gameboy, the requirements are different.

Oh sorry I forgot to put that, I haven't brought the monitor yet but I was thinking of getting a 1920 x 1080? Not sure what to get really.

Phenom II x4 (Quad Core) 945 3.0Ghz CPU
4GB DDR3 Memory
Nvidia Geforce GTS 450 w/ 1GB GDDR5

Simple Question, how would this do in the world of DayZ SA?

Desktop or laptop? Laptop
Monitor resolution: 1920x1080
CPU: Intel Core i7 4700MQ(2.40GHz)
Graphics card: 2 x NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M (SLI) (I am aware that dual graphics cards don't work with the ArmA engine very well)
RAM: 8 GB
SSD? (Yes/No) Partial; mSata hybrid

Intended games:
DayZ Stand Alone
ArmA 3
Battlefield 4 (may have to move from Xbox, unfortunately)
Source Games (My Toshiba Satellite's Intel HD3000 can already, so not too worried about this)
Bethesda Titles (Hurry up and announce Fallout 4, or 5, or whatever...)
7 Days To Die/Minecraft

I'm aware that the mousepad and wireless cards are both terrible. I already have a solution for them.
And no, I do NOT want to purchase a desktop.

Do you have Intel HD 3000, 4000, or 4400? I play with HD3000 and get 10-20 FPS on bare-minimum graphics/lots of tweaking. I consider it playable, but most people don't. If you have a 4000, you can play on absolute minimum graphics... until more zombies get added in. HD4400 should run semi-fluently (like, sticking around 20 FPS, don't expect much more, probably closer to 15)

That's a fairly old GPU. Don't expect any miracles on anything lower than low settings (it was good in 2010; 4 years later with how much of a needy child ArmA titles are, it's not fantastic)

CPU is fine, resolution is 16:9 so, comfortable. RAM is fine.

Ya, I was jut asking for fun :P I usually get decent frames. They're good enough to keep me playing. Besides, gameplay matters to me more than graphics.

Those Steam specs are a joke.

The Minimum would barely open the game and Recommended would be a horrible gaming experience.

do you know what your even talking about... for starters my wifes laptop barley meets the min with a duel core i3 and an intel HD 4000 and the game runs fine for her could probably even increase the gfx settings ones optimizations are tweaked a bit more but she lags not one bit with a few things on max but since its intergrated anti aliasing does not work as as well as a few otehr advanced features.

and my systems just past the recommended and also LAG on those advanced settings only DUE to the game requiring better optimizing since I can play APB:R on max as well as many other games like neverwinter online which require beafy cards for the gfx. please don't post your own opinion unless back by facts.

btw my two systems have a GTX 650Ti and a HD 7770 more then enough to max out game performance and record using Bandicam with minimal framerate loss (once optimized)

But to contribute my two systems + my wifes

(Mine)

AMD A8 5600k 3.6Ghz - CPU

Gigbyte F2A75M-D3H - Mainboard

Kingston HyperX Blu Red 1600Mhz - RAM

PNY Geforce GTX 650Ti 1GB GDDR5 - GPU

OCZ Agility 3 240GB SSD / Toshiba 500GB 2.5" - Storage (DayZ is on the SSD (since not optimized but most games are on the 500GB)

Thermaltake TR2 600W - PSU

AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Ed. 3.2Ghz - CPU

ASUS M5A88-V EVO - Mainboard

Kingston HyperX Blu Red 1600Mhz - RAM

ASUS Radeon HD 7770 1Ghz Ed 1GB GDDR5 - GPU

Corsair Force120 120GB SSD - Storage

Thermaltake TR2 500W - PSU

(Wifes)

Toshiba Satalite

i3 x2 2.5Ghz - CPU

6GB DDR3.... - RAM

Intel HD Graphics 4000

750GB (I assume Toshiba) - Storage

All 3 Play the game great (obviously my two systems play it on MUCH higher graphics but I don't know since its not fully optimized yet)

I mean all 3 systems are runing windows 8.1 and all support dx 10 and 11 I think and dx 9 is old news and not really (that advanced)
