Cheaters and script kiddies already aboard...

READ THIS FIRST: this is not an accusation of something broken, they might have not introduced any cheat prevention in the alpha yet, so that's why i opened this thread (to know/understand).

 

So you can already teleport all around the map (tp others as well), godmode, and all the usual s**t... this is what killed dayz mod, i just want to be sure (well not sure, but almost confident) that the story won't repeat again, otherwise i just go around, because having 60% of cheaters aboard (that's the last stat i had after i ave decided to turn off all my servers) isn't what i want experience again.

Without solid proof there's no way anyone is going to believe you. Give us proof and we will listen.

Sorry but i dont believe you, all of it is server side now and does not read scripts from players

 

EDIT: Ok, so just checked on a well known cheat sight and they actually have just released a hack for standalone. They have found a way to use scripts from the mod including god mode and stuff. I have PM'd and admin with the link

Dean has said SA will contain a mix of Battleye and Vac support for anti-cheat software. There also been alot of work at the engine level to reduce the amount of issues we saw in the mod with cheaters.

Are you a developer or what? Rocket knows already what's possible and what's not.. at this point (nor that is too hard.. there's a whole cheating community that have already hacked it, and personally i'm starting right know to give a look at the data structure, it doesn't look the tree have changed much, so it's pretty easy to apply a simple ESP and godmode atm).

Exactly.. this is what i believed.. because of the net bubble the cheating possibilities would have been limited, but unfortunately they are not AT THE MOMENT .. this is why I asked if the current situation is just temporary or if i'm missing something here... because a stupid code obfuscation is NOT going to work you know? :)

Rocket knows already what's possible and what's not.. at this point (nor that is too hard.. there's a whole cheating community that have already hacked it, and personally i'm starting right know to give a look at the data structure, it doesn't look the tree have changed much, so it's pretty easy to apply a simple ESP and godmode atm).

 

Honestly: if you are doing nothing but admitting being active in hack-communities and trying to hack the game that just came out in early access - what exactly do you want here? Do you want me to show you the door or may I drag you out personally?

You mean the opposite.. i "work" for the opposite faction (the anti-hack part of it..), and the way to "fight" em is to understand what they are doing. Do you want show me the door? Grow up....

I know.. and i hope so. I was just a little "worried" on how easy it is *today* ... i'm confident they'll find a solution in the next weeks.

Inception... at the moment you don't even need programmer skills (the code obfuscation i was talking about) to load an offline script ... as you may swap the screen init sqf with your own script.. apparently there's no anti-cheat preventing it. You will find all the details on MPG .. i won't post the link here of course.

I think it isn't enabled yet (and it makes sense, since it's the first day...)... since now you can run CE without even being kicked. A3 in example didn't had any anticheat on for some weeks.

I felt pretty cheated when these two russians came chasing after me with assault rifles, handcuffed me, took my blood and left me for dead...

He said this is what killed the mod, but the mod didn't die and has many thousands still playing..

 

The current dayz numbers are nothing if compared with the old days... anyway you are correct, I should have specified: the rampant cheating is what killed DayZ for me (or the experience of it), since by running some servers i figured how big and disrupting was the cheating, so i stopped to play all together.

The only proof of any hack is a screen shot that says 'terrain hack enabled' that could have been done in MS paint. One of the options is Repair Vehicle which aren't even in the game yet so ...

 

And maybe a night vision hack but again it was just 1 screenshot

 

 

Everything is serverside there won't be many hacks.

 On the mod they kind of fixed the hacking' I hadn't seen a hacker for about 6 to 7 months

There are no hacks. The screenshots people are showing are from old DayZ mod scripts as they include things like repair vehicle.

 

 

Some of my friends who are the people who make the actual real hacks for games at some of the biggest websites are looking at the code already and saying it's going to be ridiculously difficult to hack when they start trying ... which they haven't done yet. There's not even links for the hacks in the threads where the people with 10 posts and an MS paint image are saying they've made the hack.

Ever think of changing your friends? I hate cheaters and the only thing worse than cheaters online are the idiots who make it possible for them to play their little games.

Nope. I've known them for years and met them because I used to develop anti-cheat scripts and we had fun breaking each others shit. Building a gun doesn't make you a murderer if someone uses it to kill someone. If they weren't making the money from 12 year old's parent's credit cards someone else would.
