  1. Dayz Commander works just fine as long as you update it-as of right now I have 3000+ servers to choose from-even after applying a filter I still have more than enough. Update to the latest versions and it works just fine.
  2. I never felt like quitting but I have rage quit the odd time-once I had awesome kit and got an infection from drinking water, so I ran for the nearest town and found nothing, I then ran to the coast and made it a medical camp where I promptly died before I could find antibiotics. The other time was on Namalsk where I was in a standoff with three guys who I could have shot but didn't and as one player came up to the roof I was on to get his gear I accidentally backed into a wall, which of course meant I went right over it and died. Then there are the times I got desynced while flying, not being able to blood bag in combat, getting bitched slapped by a zed 10 feet away etc-game is still fun though.

    Dayz needs pvp free servers

There is nothing wrong with PVE or PVP-I play both and they both have their advantages. I play on a couple PVE servers-Epoch and Overpoch and I treat it as a single player game. The only requirement I have for PVE is hard AI and not too much in the way of Donater crap. PVP in Dayz is overrated IMO and so I play Battlefield when I want some non stop action and Arma2 and Arma3 for the sneaky kind which is fun in it's own way. I also like PVE for building funky bases that I don't have to worry about getting sniped out of-it's fun too, but admittedly gets a bit stale once you build everything and only do missions, That's when I play some PVP Overwatch or Overpoch. Do what you want-that's the point of having options. If you really don't like PVP find a reasonably hard PVE server and you will have more than enough to keep you busy. In my opinion there should be some danger even on PVE servers, but after trying alot of them the AI is usually complete crap and people roll around in tanks and attack choppers and never shoot a gun. This doesn't have to be the case and if you look around enough you can find something decent.

    DayZ Invasion 1944

You guys should check out DevilDogGamer's youtube video of 1944 action if you haven't seen any game play-it was so good I installed the mod. I don't see any more 1944 servers though, so I uninstalled it recently and went with Wasteland instead.

am i going crazy or am I hearing things?

That is part of the background music I think. When I first started playing that one used to freak me out and I would hit the deck and look around for a car or truck but there was never anything there. The one that gets me is the snapping twigs sound that seems to play in the woods at random intervals-gets me every time.

    a few namalsk question

This^^^^^^-btw, when you hear the weird footsteps or the roar just get the F out of there unless you want to give away your position by shooting it 30 times. Bloodsuckers are invisible until they get close enough to attack-you can usually see their glowing eyes though if it is dark enough. Remember just run for your life and usually you can lose it, but there have been times when there was no cover and I had 10 zombies and a blood sucker on my ass. Some Namalsk servers also run elite bandit AI which show up at the worst moments,ie when you are running from a bloodsucker so the map is a challenge in every sense. Things you need are Warm clothing, an APSI if EVR events are on, and of course decent weapons because PVP is high on Namalsk.

    help with install

Make sure you check options on the right side, ie, hide wrong Arma version, hide wrong Mod version, etc. That should solve the problem hopefully. Secondly open your install/update tab and make sure there are no corrupt or out of date game files that need attention. Good luck.
  9. You could try Wasteland for Arma2 or the updated Wasteland for Arma3-all PVP and no zombies with objectives.

Is It Still Worth Buying The Dayz Mod?

You cant really compare the Mod and all of it's sub-mods to an Alpha product-I will wait for the SA to mature because there are so many mods to play that the variety is hard to beat. Personally I love Overwatch and like Namalsk and play a couple of others off and on. I haven't been able to get into Epoch, but there is only so much time and it seems like it would be better with a crew.

Another way to be a good guy

Nice-I occasionally offer free heli rides to anyone who needs it, with the emphasis on players who have just been killed so they can either get back to their bodies or somewhere to rekit. It is risky, so now I will stash my gear before I go out so I don't lose some hours work just for variety-because you never know when you will get killed by the guy you are helping or by someone stalking the guy you are trying to help. Oh, and have some beans.

Please Help Me!!!: Day-Z Epoch Mod

Pretty sure they try to add some ad-ware at the same time you install Dayz commander-just say no to anything that isn't Dayz Commander and it's fine. If you have Dayz Commander installed click the install/update button and look for the Epoch mod and click install-done.

    FPS Question

Some servers seem to be better than others as well-i'm guessing the more modded the version the worse the FPS. I mostly have 60+frames on most servers (with drops in the cities) but on some servers I get drops down below 20 fps, which is solved by relogging usually. I think Dayzero or Dayz+ are supposedly more optimized mods so that would be worth a look. Lastly, adjusting your graphic settings can yield good improvements in terms of FPS and visibility.
  14. I'm surprised people hate private hives so much. Without them some players may stop playing, but more likely they will join your role playing servers and pop you in the head while your looking through your third town hoping to find a box of matches. I don't like the pay for starting loadouts and armoured vehicle crap, but I don't find looking through endless locations for hardly any payout all that exciting either. Throw in some bandits and hard to find gear and I fail to see where the fun is unless you can reasonably kit yourself up to have a chance. It's bad enough that Dayz is glitchy and you die from random events that might and do ruin all the work you just did without making up some rules to punish you as well. I play mostly Namalsk and Overwatch servers and try to stay away from the more ridiculous ones, but there is no easy mode in a game where people kit up with decent military gear in relatively little time. Think people-no private hives=more randy bandit types roaming your vanilla servers and all that goes with that.
  15. You need a fourth option that says "help, but get ready to drop them if they even blink wrong". Most people I have encountered that said friendly were either friendly or just moving through, so we watched each other as we moved away. One guy said friendly and asked me to help him with some Zeds and while I was doing that he tried to shoot me, which didn't work out so well for him. Personally I get itchy trigger finger syndrome when people point their weapons at me even while saying friendly.
