Not exactly the right time to release, what do you guys think?

I'm a fairly small youtuber who uploads dayz/arma regularly. I'm not rich like some others. It's right next to Christmas, so it's kinda awkward for me.

Didn't mean to be harsh - but what the other guys said pretty much sums it up, as it was only released about 2 hours ago.

I'm installing it now, however I was baffled buy the price.

Money is spent where you think it is worth it. There are no good or bad times for a release of something except in the context of how much money a company will make. Releasing now means more people that can't afford it might be able to get someone else to buy it for them for Christmas. Not sure of conversion rates but here its $30. For a game I expect to get 100's of hours of enjoyment out of I'm willing to sacrifice a dinner or two out this month to get it now.

I think the price is exactly where it should be. This will keep non-fans from 'wasting' their money on an unfinished product and will guarantee that only people interested in helping the devs make their bills will buy in at this early stage. A lot of fans would gladly buy it at fill retail price to get in months before the full release comes out.

Think about the amount of hours you're going to spend. It's easily more than 4 hours, even if you hate it. And that's about the time you would get for 20€ worth of cinema / film.

Agree, i clocked about 2500h on ArmA2 dayz mod and dont regret having to pay again.
