Respawn Timer

Ok so i had this thought just touring the forums and sorry if this has already been suggested.

 

But what if after you died you had to wait a small respawn timer like about 5-15 minutes.

 

E.G. - your in balota or somewhere,you die and your all pissed cause you lost some loot, if you were to go

back there instantly for revenge on whoever killed you. Whats the fun in that, spawning then killing for revenge.

 

E.G. - your up north at NEAF you die from a glitched zombie,broken legs from stairs etc, something stupid, you wait the spawn timer

of about 5-15 minutes so you cant just instantly run back for your gear.

 

what if somebody had looted it already and hid your body? Its just these little things that can happen in such little time that matters.

Anyways what im trying to say is let a little time pass before you instantly get your revenge, try and hunt him down or something.Keeping

the same gear and doing the same thing gets old and boring.

Nah, you may as well just make the hive crappy, so it take 15mins to load in, it wouldnt be a popular move... if stopping people looting their own bodies is the goal, why not just script it in for it to kill you if you attempt to? Or have the option o booby trapin bodies :huh:  But adding time like that to spawning is one step away from say... giving a limited amount o lives in a day... but you can buy more... that might not be the goal, but it would look like a dick move to most o us cynical ole bastards for one.

We just need a big enough island and slower running speed then you can't just run back to loot yourself in 5 like minutes. One day i ran from around Cherno/Elektro up to Stary just to die like 4 times so my buddies could pinpoint the attackers because i told them not to give away their position if not necesssary. I think i set a new world record for long range running that day.

No. DayZ already takes a lot of time to play. It's not a casual shooter where you hop for like half an hour and that's it. And this is already making it difficult for people with school, jobs, families, etc to find time to actually play. Now imagine if you had to wait 15 minutes every time you died. So no.

 

You want to make corpse looting more difficult? Remove the spawn selection screen. Remove the new spawn points (Berezino, etc). More running for everyone.

I actually like the spawning along the whole coast idea. It's about the same distance from the most visited loot locations and most of the time players would want ot jump from a roof if they spawn in Berezino because they want to shoot around in Cherno/Elektro. I liked Berezino because it gave kind of a remote feeling because it was rarely visited, i only encountered very few players during the time i played on Chernarus.

As far as I know it was planned to implement that you can't respawn where you died with the new spawnselection.

They should add a min distance where you can spawn from where you died. Won't stop you from getting your gear back but it's a beginning...

It was but the guys doing that system had man flu and didn't get time to get it done :-(. That was the main reason we moved to from enabled by default to select able by server admins.

How about you just carnt respawn in that server for 5-10 mins. You can go get started on a different one but not stay there for instant revenge, or to loot your own body....maybe delete corpses arter the same amount of time?

I hate when games make you wait.  It doesn't enhance the experience it just waste my time.  Its going to make those moments when you spawn, run to the nearest town, get sniped, even more frustrating.

Blocking someone is bad Karma...but for one...how about when you get killed either by zed or player there is a possibility that a zed will drag ( there is an animation for that ) your body around for maybe a random time to a random location inside a 1000m circle. Let's say this zombie wants to eat in peace therefor dragging the body to a random location like some mammals do with their food ( doesn't always have to be a carnivore ). Could be a realistic behaviour. This could prevent players from knowing the exact position of their corpse of course unless they have friends guarding it. Would be funny to run to the location and having to search your gear.

How about moving you to a new server with the same amount of players after death instead? It'll provide even more incentive to not die, especially if you're playing with friends. Everyone will play it safer. Hell, it could lower the amount of KoSing too. Who would want to take the risk?

The ones who would benefit the most are the KoSers since it makes no difference, they loot new gear and look for victims on the other server. It wouldn't be good for team players. It's up to them if they want to play it safe, nobody wants to play in a group with lone wolves who only care for their kills or themselves so teams with non team playing members will sort them out themselves.

You can't kill some instantly after respawning, they would be long gone before you get there.

Why would we want to wait 15 minutes because a buggy game killed us for no reason?
