GENERAL question!!!111 No gamma, blablabla., what about PowerStrip programs?

Rocket, I can choose no 3DN servers, but

1) thay are

2) theyy see by butt

3) gamma

No cheat at all. Like you that? Where is free play? Where is survivial where is see by butt and gamma night? Gamma nigth is too problem? I play CS 15 years, powerstrip!

 

There's a specific section in Russian for the questions you're asking. Also, how in the hell are you "seeing by butt?" My GF says I have my head up my ass but I usually can't see when that's the case.

-◾Realized that a whole bunch of people equate sounds with change so some poor person on the team is going to have to do some extra hours to put placeholder placeholders in. It's a pointless task but if it makes people actually check for different mechanics then fine.

 

I really hope this is some sort of joke, why would a devs time be wasted on making placeholder placeholders? to satisfy those who do not read and do no know that rocket has said many times that a sound engineer would be starting in December and would be creating all the new sounds, but people have the audacity to complain that the SA is using the same sounds as the mod, ROCKET has said many times that new sounds are coming. I hope and pray that this does not delay release. and for those who complain about the sounds need to read up on rockets updates and realize that this "problem" has a solution. and stop Whining about it.

Ive never seen a video game in which developers keep gamers involved and up to date on things like with DayZ. And the fact we actually have the head developer keeping us up to date and involved blows my mind.

 

I am going to buy this game the instant it comes out just for this reason (of course I would buy it anyway lol). And if I end up hating the SA I will make myself play it just for the effort Hall and the other devs have put in.

I played in 90s when Karmak buy first Ferrari, i played after. And what? But i think this would be my first. It's simple for me to download game from big russian provider's server, and what? Only busines, just simple download. Sorry. But 1) not this game 2) not net game :rolleyes:

I just want to say even people like me buy this game, Dean maked great job

The problem with implementing this kind of physics is not engine related, it is scale related.

In Elder Scrolls, your computer only has to deal with the immediate scene. It can focus entirely on this. It doesn't need to send the state to other people. Imagine having to synchronize that state to 50, or 100, or 150 other clients?

When you knock the table, how do you tell the other clients where the object is? Do you send position and orientation updates every frame? Do you send the initial force and let the clients work it out for themselves?

Game design is much less about good ideas as it is about being practical and aligning your chosen feature-set properly with the core pillars of your game design. Essentially, you're not wrong. Realistic physics for everything would be awesome - but that needs to be balanced against everything else and the practicality of it all.

We have actually implemented a middleware called Bullet Physics into DayZ, which is being used to develop physics for objects. The primary focus is ragdoll but it will also involve throwing, and possibly some cosmetic things. The cosmetic stuff is much, much easier because it can be done locally. But physics on objects is a much lower priority that things that have a real impact on game design, such as construction, barricading, cooking, vehicles, horses, hunting, bows, etc...
