Random Spawn.

Hello. I had an idea for the Dayz SA. I understand that alot of people won't like it as it kind of defeats the way you could make up your own background.

-Once you start, you'll see a screen, you have two options "Default" in which you spawn along the coast like regular DayZ, and "Random". This will spawn you in a random position on the map with default start gear, as one of the roles below.

-Pilot: You begin in an SU-25 hurtling towards the Earth.  You will spawn in a random position near the wreckage of your jet. You will spawn with low blood and a tattered set of "Pilot Overalls" in bad condition.

-Soldier: You spawn by a crashed Ural on the side of the road in a random position on the map. There dead CDF troops littering the road, but they have vbeen looted, as have you. You will start with a CDF jacket and trousers and boots in bad condition. (No armour or helmets as it was looted). For both of these spawns there are zombies in the area to add challenge.

Maybe more? I have no extra ideas, but maybe the devs do. Feedack appreciated.

P.S, Can we get like, AS50 on spawn? and unlimited ammo, and can you get rid of zombies?

Doesn't always have to be military you know....can be a Chernarus citizen waking up in the hospital in a bad condition ( TWD *cough* ) or a person who tries to get through Chernarus by car ( either to the coast or just through the country ) and has a breakdown ( left with car and maybe some supplies ) or a hunter who has been living in the woods for some time ( some food maybe a double barrel with some ammo or a crossbow ) ... use your imagination.

I like the idea but I think that the game needs to be YOUR story, not a soldiers, not a pilots, unless thats what you want to be. The nice thing about spawning on the coast is that you can make up anything how you got there, washed up on shore, dumped there, passed out. Unless you can think of a way to make it like that but maybe some different general scenarios id be on board.

I never said "Just" military. It was merely an example. And I can't say that I'm fond of giving people start gear. Hunter with DB shotty/Crossbow and food? Go play Private Hive. What's the point of scavenging when you start with stuff? Good ideas though

As I said, there are two options, default DayZ spawn-on-coast start or random. You can still make up background stories, nationality and stuff even if you choose random

Yes exactly...your story. In a way if you choose to be an ex space marine stranded in novy you are a space marine stranded in novy...most play paranoid wannabe mass murderers though.

I dont like the idea of starter kits really. Just clothes if anything. Basic clothes at that. Jeans, T-shirt. But areas to spawn? Random across the map might be interesting. I think maybe a 65% chance of classic on the coast spawn but a 35% chance for a random on the map spawn. Though I do not recommend spawning people in towns or "hunters" near deer stands. Spawning people in points of interest may cause issues in confrontation. So random roads in middle of the woods for across the map spawns and no more.

Beeing a soldier means to me you will have the "basics" unlike a civilian. I don't run around with a map and compass 24/7 unlike a patrol or reconnaissance unit or a pilot.

Oh. I was foolishly under the assumption that the jet would actually crash in-game. But that's silly, disregard me.

Yeah. The idea was a cut scene. But nice job pointing out the lack of clarification.

Interesting concept.  You are basically starting off in bad shape but with a chance of being in a better area.  Could be good but it would need to be tested,  Doubt it would be hard for a server to add a random spawn.  Like wasteland.  Most servers have the option to random halo jump.

I feel it would the noob experience a lil' more dangerous and might deter those fucking casual gamers because they'd probably say it's "Too hard"

I'd like to wake up in a crashed bus as zombies are feeding on dead people to the front.

You have to try sneak out quietly.

I feel there has to be a preference to the spawns or a different advantage to each one that might change the sort of endgame you achieve.

What it sort of makes me think of though is the GTA 5 system when your just thrown into this characters life suddenly and they might be in the middle of something.

Trevor especially is usually chasing some NPC'S car trying to kill them or following a scooter guy going scooter buddies!

Start in a raft what comes floating into shore and then you beach and your are lost on a strange bare land with zombies every were and you hungry and need water so you need basic survival gear ASAP
