Bullet drop and lead

Random Chilean Mauser to make thread seem more interesting

Here are some calculated bullet drop and lead figures. I didn't calculate for scoped rifles (not really necessary) or pistols (not really necessary). Necessary lead is calculated based on the average running speed. I visualize Imperial better than metric so I calculated for both.

Rounded to the nearest 0.5 feet / 0.1 meters for drop, and 1 foot / 0.25 meters for lead, so there may be some apparent inconsistencies when comparing the two sets of numbers (the metric is always a bit more accurate). I can't claim these figures are perfectly accurate but they should be accurate enough for any practical purpose. EDIT: added MP5A5.

Interesting.  Can you comment on the different rate of bullet drop between the M4A1 and the M4A1 CCO/holo?  I believe that these should have the same muzzle velocity (am I wrong in this assumption?), yet the drop rate is higher for the rifle with the CCO optics.  Not talking about the zeroing setpoint here, but the rate.

Nevermind - I got it.

Can you do me one for tin cans please?

Approximate:

Angle = 20°

Range = 66 meters (72 yards)

Max height =  4.5 m (15 feet)

Time of flight = 1.75 sec

Angle = 40°

Range = 95 m (104 yards)

Max height = 20 m (66 feet)

Time of flight = 3.75 sec
