Dayz convention (Own or Know a good pub?)

Simply put, somewhere along the lines of Minecon. A panel to ask questions to the developers of the mod and the standalone and a few stations offering various mods for dayz ( day zero, origins). There would be adequate aming machine access and a mega server so that people attending can play the game with other attendees. You could go and watch you tubers playing live in various booths. Dayz merchandise etc would also be sold. Maybe excel in London for the first year. A groovy after party somewhere would be nice.

At least, that's what we want to do. Sadly everyone is broke and we cant afford that. The new ticket price stands at roughly about 5 GBP for the free tin of beans you receive microwaved for your pleasure. We need a pub to do this in, one that has a function room might be useful?? Prices?? Somewhere central with a premier inn nearby ( Gotta love dem Inns). I also need to find someone other then me to try and organize the rest. We need to gather momentum before we consider more then a meetup of Dayz fans.

Main attractions:

• Meet Fraggle ( and his missus)
• Can of beans included in price
• Alcohol ( Not included in price)

What would there be? BIS is not a publisher and i doubt they would spend that much for a game that is a niche product.

It doesn't have to be supported by the publisher. It could be community run and set up. With enough tickets sold I doubt the developers can refuse to coming along. Either way it would be a event to meet up with fellow survivors.

I've never even been to any of these games conferences (E3 etc) so I'd love to go to something that just lets me geek out for a day.  I vote for just picking a pub too, if it grows from there then we can just hire out a massive conference centre and make it official.

 

Not sure about the missus cooking breakfast though, we'd have to eat beans on toast (in honour of DayZ) and she's Swedish so I think think the whole "beans on toast" thing would probably turn her stomach.  You can all crash on my floor anytime though.

 

Hopefully though we'd still be drunk from the night before so it wouldn't matter anyway.

We need to elect some form of a unorganised organiser. I probably wont be able to make it. Parents :0. I definitely agree with beans and toast. straight from the tin included in the price. We would need a hotel nearby. So a fiver to come :). We would need at least 1 Russian to keep the spirit.

I don't own a pub, but I do know the guy who works in the smaller half of Maggie Mae's (I think he might be the owner). He gives me really good drink specials. I'm talking six or seven drinks for like 20 bucks. No joke.

We have had forum "meet ups" before. It just needs to be organised.

 

Then if folk actually turn up then one can start from there.

 

Its the regular turning up thats the issue. If you guys organise it and I have the pennies, ill turn up happily. Dunno why you'd wanna see me though.

 

As to the devs turning up, well perhaps if it was somewhere close to where they are based you might be lucky but dont get your hopes up.

 

Remember what happened to that Arma fan who turned up at their offices?
