Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

CPU: i7 3770 3.4GHz

RAM: 16GB

Graphic Card: nVidia GTX 660 2gb GDDR5

Screen Resolution: 1920 x 1080

SSD: yes 120gb

What sort of FPS would this roughly get on high settings in Cherno/Electro?

Thanks.

EDIT: One more question i7 3770 or FX-8350?

Desktop or laptop? Desktop

Screen resolution:1920x1080 or 1280x800

CPU:i5-3570K 3.4ghz (or 3.8ghz)

Graphics card:NVIDIA GTX660 2GB DDR5

RAM: 8gb Corsair Vengeance

SSD? Yes 128gb 6gb/s

Also would i be able to record with this??

ps. if the above specs can run it would i be able to run it with a GTX650 2GB instead

As another side question (sorry for so many) is 600W enough to run this rig?

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can run it. This game is not gpu intensive. The limiting factor is the game itself. It doesn't use the full power of your CPU which bottlenecks your entire system. I wouldn't suggest buying a 650 it's just a waste. Spend the extra 60 bucks and take one step up. What's more important to you, seamless hours of gameplay at the cost of an extra 6 hours at work (assuming minimum wage) or the 60 bucks?

3770. 16gb is overkill but if you can spare it, go for it. I'd expect 40fps minimum, maxed out in the most populated areas with those components.

I'm playing on a similar build at the minute. It'll run on high to very high settings but you'll struggle a bit in the cities while recording.

Desktop or laptop? Desktop

Screen resolution: 1920x1080

CPU: i7 3770k

Graphics card: EVGA GTX 780 superclocked (acx)

RAM: 8gb corsair vengeance ddr3 1600

SSD? No :(

Just want to know how you think it will do before i finish putting it togeather...

Should run max settings fine.

Will my run?

666 mhz Pentium 3

256 mb RAM (later 384 mb)

Geforce 1 (later a Geforce 3 ti 200)

Windows 98

Better than your current build mate. ;)

The GPU could do with an upgrade, other than that, you should get 30+ on high with a decent GPU.

I have extreme brand loyalty to Toshiba, regardless of whether they deserve it or not, but I've heard good things about the MSI PC in the link above. Which would be a better long-term purchase? (which would get outdated more quickly, which is better for DayZ as it is now, etc)

The MSI is considerably better spec wise. Both the processor and GPU are much more powerful than the Toshiba's.

That Toshiba laptop you listed would get outdated quicker.

Toshiba Qosmio

  • Intel Core i7 3630QM @ 2.4GHz
  • GTX 670M
  • 1TB hard drive
  • 12GB of RAM

MSI G Series

  • Intel Core i7 4700MQ @ 3.4GHz
  • GTX 770M
  • 1TB hard drive
  • 8GB of RAM

Though if you can, consider building your own PC.

Applejaxc - pretty much what DD said. If you MUST have a laptop. then buy a more basic model for a few hundred dollars and spend the rest of building a proper PC. I just assembled a PC for a friend for just over $700 including P&P which would blow both those laptops out the water. If however you must have a laptop, then the MSI will walk all over the Toshiba all day long.

The main problem that comes to my mind when people are buying new computers, what are you looking for your computer to do? Do you want just RAW power for max FPS possible?, or do you want a higher quality, well balanced. or even a computer that can just play most games with decent FPS, not a monster but a gremlin. its all up to you. If you want a PC ment for DAYZ, well i hate to tell this to you all but when dayz standalone comes out, this is gonna be the Past. this crap with "Can my computer run it" wont be in Standalone, If your going to buy a PC because ur want a good gaming PC then go for it, Get the biggest mother fer there* Now if your getting a custom built pc JUST FOR DAYZ, then Please, PLEASE! just wait till dayz standalone come outs, then make up your mind. Because i would hate it, if someone took someone else advice and bought a computer that he really didn't need/want but really wanted to play dayz at decent fps, just to find out that standalone wont have any issues as far as processor and GPU and HDD goes, and his old computer could play it just fine. Please be cautious. think about it.

An SSD is pretty much a hard drive but has no moving parts, no spinning disc inside which means everything that is stored on it loads / runs much faster.

The lack of a dedicated GPU will really set you back, everything else is fine. I would say <20 on low.

<30 on normal - low.

No. It might play with OK frames, but not very good quality at all. It would look like balls, and if theres one thing I like most about BF3, its the graphics. So I wouldn't bother.

I have found a video, showing my APU playing BF3 on ultra without a Graphics card

Would it still be the same?

No it would be worse. Probably way worse.

BF3 is much more optimized. You can't compare it to DayZ.

You'll be lucky to even run DayZ.

If you somehow manage to, expect very bad performance even on low settings.

Hi guys, my friend is trying to download DayZ, but i don't know if he can run the game without any lag or issues, so i'm doing this topic to ask you guys some suggestions to say to me if he's able or not to run the game.

So my friend got:

- Graphic Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400

- Processor: Inte® Pentium® Dual CPU T3200 @ 2.00GHz 2.00 Ghz

Any suggestions are welcome please ;)
