Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

I think the graphics card you chosen will bottleneck your PC a bit but everything else about your PC is fine.

Your laptop will run it ok but I don't know what settings.

Hey guys i wanted to play DayZ for awhile which is why i am building a PC and i was wandering if these specs are good enough to run it on medium settings with a decent FPS. i do have a budget of £350 this is because i will be purchasing the PS4 in the future.

My PC Specs:

CPU: Intel Pentium G860 Dual Core CPU @ 3.0 Ghz

GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7770 1GB DDR5

RAM: Corsair CMV8GX3M2A1333C9 Value Select 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333 Mhz CL9

MotherBoard: MSI H61M-P31-G3 Motherboard (Intel H61 Processor, 16GB RAM, M-ATX, Gigabit LAN, Socket LGA1155)

HardDrive: Seagate ST500DM002 3.5 inch 500GB Hard Drive (Serial-ATA, 6Gb/s, 16Mb, 7200RPM)

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX 430 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supply Unit

No SSD

So guys what do you think will i be able to run DayZ with decent FPS if so at what settings.

@TehProKi:

Your graphics card is perfectly fine to run DayZ on high graphics, your RAM is perfectly fine too. What you really need to upgrade is your CPU! I'd recommend an Intel I5-3330 but it does cost about 135-140£. You might be on a tight budget but buying a better CPU will really make huge difference. Unless you want to play PS4-specific games why don't you consider fully switching to PC-gaming? You could always buy the PS4 a year or so later when it'll be much cheaper.

EDIT: What you can do if you're on a tight budget is buy 4Gb RAM. You don't need more to decently run DayZ (unless you have a 4k monitor...). And RAM is the easiest component to upgrade. What I did 3 years ago is buy 4GB of RAM, and 6months ago I just added 4 other gigs of RAM.

Well I can definitely say that the GFX card and RAM is enough but I don't know anything about AMD processors :s. You'll need somebody else to help you there.

I think you'd struggle but just about get by on low settings. Up to you whether you think it's worth it or not.

I'd say 30-60 on high, maybe a bit higher if you dropped to normal.

My little brother is currently updating his desktop. He's about to make the purchase of his GPU which is outlined below:-

AMD FX6300 3.5GHz 6-core

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8gb (2x 4gb)@ DDR3 1866mhz

PowerColor Radeon HD 7850 2GB

Does this look like a good shout - specifically in regards to the GPU?

edit; i fed the troll :(

A 7850 would be a pretty good choice, but if you are able to spend a little more, go for a 7870.

I don't know where else to post this, so I'll make a quick post about it here.

I'm getting a new laptop and have it picked out. I need some good headphones that will allow me to detect the positions that sounds are coming from. I'm no expert in this, but someone told me you need a headset that will allow this. I'm not looking for anything super fancy, and not anything cheap and crappy. Willing to spend 50-60 bucks. Will that get me anything decent? Any recommendations?

For that you would need headhones with a dedicated chip.

There are quite a few Topics concerning  head sets on these Forums and elsewhere (google is your friend).

read through this Topic to get you going...

Yes, you should use the Search Function, please do so in future.

I actually know I can play it on hard, and I do, with no lag and brilliant fps, but would it suffer too much on "very high" graphics? (in DayZ)
