Yes you can run it. This game is not gpu intensive. The limiting factor is the game itself. It doesn't use the full power of your CPU which bottlenecks your entire system. I wouldn't suggest buying a 650 it's just a waste. Spend the extra 60 bucks and take one step up. What's more important to you, seamless hours of gameplay at the cost of an extra 6 hours at work (assuming minimum wage) or the 60 bucks?

3770. 16gb is overkill but if you can spare it, go for it. I'd expect 40fps minimum, maxed out in the most populated areas with those components.

I'm playing on a similar build at the minute. It'll run on high to very high settings but you'll struggle a bit in the cities while recording.

The GPU could do with an upgrade, other than that, you should get 30+ on high with a decent GPU.

I have extreme brand loyalty to Toshiba, regardless of whether they deserve it or not, but I've heard good things about the MSI PC in the link above. Which would be a better long-term purchase? (which would get outdated more quickly, which is better for DayZ as it is now, etc)

The MSI is considerably better spec wise. Both the processor and GPU are much more powerful than the Toshiba's.

That Toshiba laptop you listed would get outdated quicker.

Applejaxc - pretty much what DD said. If you MUST have a laptop. then buy a more basic model for a few hundred dollars and spend the rest of building a proper PC. I just assembled a PC for a friend for just over $700 including P&P which would blow both those laptops out the water. If however you must have a laptop, then the MSI will walk all over the Toshiba all day long.

The main problem that comes to my mind when people are buying new computers, what are you looking for your computer to do? Do you want just RAW power for max FPS possible?, or do you want a higher quality, well balanced. or even a computer that can just play most games with decent FPS, not a monster but a gremlin. its all up to you. If you want a PC ment for DAYZ, well i hate to tell this to you all but when dayz standalone comes out, this is gonna be the Past. this crap with "Can my computer run it" wont be in Standalone, If your going to buy a PC because ur want a good gaming PC then go for it, Get the biggest mother fer there* Now if your getting a custom built pc JUST FOR DAYZ, then Please, PLEASE! just wait till dayz standalone come outs, then make up your mind. Because i would hate it, if someone took someone else advice and bought a computer that he really didn't need/want but really wanted to play dayz at decent fps, just to find out that standalone wont have any issues as far as processor and GPU and HDD goes, and his old computer could play it just fine. Please be cautious. think about it.

An SSD is pretty much a hard drive but has no moving parts, no spinning disc inside which means everything that is stored on it loads / runs much faster.

No. It might play with OK frames, but not very good quality at all. It would look like balls, and if theres one thing I like most about BF3, its the graphics. So I wouldn't bother.

BF3 is much more optimized. You can't compare it to DayZ.

So my friend got:

- Graphic Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400

- Processor: Inte® Pentium® Dual CPU T3200 @ 2.00GHz 2.00 Ghz
