Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

Alright guys, what about this?

HD Radeon 5670

Intel D945GCNL Socket 775 Motherboard

Intel Pentium D Processor (3.4 ghz)

OS: Vista

2 gb ram

I know that the minimum requirements for DayZ is a radeon 3650 and the recommended is 5770. So i feel graphics card wise, I'll be okay running it.

So what about that processor? It's a step up from my 2.50 ghz processor right now, which I've felt was the culprit of my slow fps in the game.

Also, if anybody is going to tell me to get more ram, can you explain to me the importance of doing so? Will it actually effect the performance of my gameplay?

Thanks

Hello,

I am planning to buy a gaming laptop and wondering what settings can it play DayZ on and what frames to expect:

Desktop or laptop: Laptop

OS: Win 8 (don't know if this affects anything)

Screen resolution: 1900x1080 native, but playing on 1366x768

CPU: i7-4700HQ

Graphics card: GTX 765M

RAM: 8GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600MHz

SSD: Yes

Min FPS: >30

Thank you in advance.

CPU is too slow, I would say <20 on normal.

Desktop

Res: 1920x1080

CPU: i5 2500k@ 4.2ghz

GPU: XFX DD 7970

Ram: 16gb Hyper X@1600mhz

SSD: 256gb

Easily, 40+ on very high.

Pc im getting..

Res: 1920x1080

Asus M5A78L-M USB 3.0 Motherboard Technology

AMD Bulldozer FX 4100 3.6ghz 8mb Cache

1tb Sata Hard Drive

Nvidia GT610 2gb Graphic Card With HDMI <---BOTTLENECK

Zalman Z11 Plus Gaming Case

24x Dual Layer Sata DVD Writer

750 Watt Branded Power Supply

Can it run it?

Swap the 610 out for at least 650.

Pentiums are very old, I don't know if they'll run OK, GPU is fine but the RAM and OS should be upgraded.

I've heard upgrading RAM can add up to 10 - 15 frames when playing.

I'd give it a go at native resolution

and high-ish settings. Your cpu (or one core in particular), as good as it is, will be the bottleneck. Monitor your hardware (EVGA Precision/ MSI Afterburner for GPU and Task Manager for CPU) and determine where the limitation is. If you have gpu headroom, crank up the settings.

CPU: i5 2500k@ 4.2ghz

GPU: XFX DD 7970

Ram: 16gb Hyper X@1600mhz

SSD: 256gb

Your limitations will be server-side only. Crank it up - and if you have a good cpu cooler, shoot for 4.6 - 4.8 on the overclock.

Sorry to say, but while your cpu is decent, a GT 610 is meant to be an HTPC card, capable of fine HD movie output, but something on the order of 5-10% of the performance of a typical gaming card, such as a 7970, GTX670/680/780. I wouldn't recommend it.

Thank you. That is what I was thinking as well and hence deferred placing the order.

How would 4900MQ (might get this if can save the funds) perform for the mod and especially the standalone. The rest of the specifications will stay the same, except ram to 16gb. I am using my flatmates desktop PC to play the mod on and might install only the SA version when I buy the PC.

With those specs, I'd stick to minesweeper.

Kidding, of course. Are you trolling? I have a similar setup, with 2 680s, and barely squeak by...

Try super-ultra-low settings and set your resolution to 800 x 600 and aim for 15 fps.

Native Resolution of my Monitor is: 1920 x 1080

I'm playing with with low quality settings and i drop sometimes from 20 to 10 fps. I don't remeber having these kinda drops when i first started playing DayZ...

All Settings Low

Startupsettings in my DAYZ Commander (Just found them somewhere in a Forum after i had these drops allready) :

-nosplash -maxMem=2047 -exthreads=7 -maxvram=2048 -winxp -CpuCount=4

That GPU is really limiting you, swap it out for something stronger like a 660ti or 7870.

No sorry, CPU is too weak and intergrated GPUs will run like balls with this game.

I'm guessing it should run about the same/slightly better on standalone then?

That's hard to say as the game isn't out yet, but theoretically yes. You should get somewhat the same if not better performance in the standalone.

Buddy, if I get a GIGABYTE GeForce GTX650 OC 1GB DDR5 Memory Speed 5000 MHz GPU Speed 1110 MHz Memory Bus 128 bits I will be able to play DayZ on High smoothly?

Or a AMD Radeon HD 7750 1GB DDR5 Memory Speed 4600 MHz GPU Speed 820 MHz Memory Bus 128bits will be better?

Guys... you're being pathetic.. any i5 i7 and amd's fx cpu paired with gtx 560 ti and above (ask google for comparison with your card), 4 gigs or more ram will run dayz smoothly even on FHD resolution. Really..

Really? Two of us told you a $40 GT 610 is crap with a mere 5-10% of the performance of gaming cards. I'd wager you'd get single-digit framerates at any setting. I can only surmise you're looking for someone to lie and say it's a great setup?

Desktop or laptop? Desktop

Screen resolution:1920x1080 or 1280x800

CPU:i5-3570K 3.4ghz (or 3.8ghz)

Graphics card:NVIDIA GTX660 2GB DDR5

RAM: 8gb Corsair Vengeance

SSD? Yes 128gb 6gb/s

Also would i be able to record with this??

ps. if the above specs can run it would i be able to run it with a GTX650 2GB instead

As another side question (sorry for so many) is 600W enough to run this rig?

Thanks in advance!
