An Idea From AC3 And Rising Storm

Recommended Posts

I want to be able to FEEL THE KILL. (Don't get me wrong I am not a Murderer) But in Assassins Creed you actually feel like you have dealt damage to someone. When they get slashed in the throat by your blade/gun, blood comes rushing out and you see a grusome wound. I think this will make a good deal to have DayZ be more of a "realistic" feel than having a patch of blood where you hit the enemy.

Another idea of mine is to have some of the sounds from Rising Storm, not exactly the same sounds (Due to copyright) but something brutal and miserable when you get shot or heavily wounded, or even a dying from zombies makes you make a horrifying sound.

I think these will improve the DayZ experience to make it feel like you are sucked into the game.

ARMA 2 doesn't feature a "patch of blood where you hit the enemy."

There are only a couple stages of how bloody you can get, which include multiple patches of blood all over the body.

But what ARMA 2 does have, is blood spraying out from where you were hit. So I don't know how you confused those two in your AC3 comparison.

Yeah, that is true, but I think they should just add a LITTLE bit better textures for that.

Good idea, I also think the same. Shooting someone produces that exact same blood effect every time. And it's really basic. That's bad.

I'd probably prefer some kind of dust or other impact effect. I think it's unrealistic to immediately and very clearly see blood magically appear from backpacks, under clothing, etc, etc. I think the blood should start dripping after the shot, but no little generic impact circle of blood.

Another part of it is the lack of reaction - when a living creature gets shot it generally reacts very quickly. That can mean dropping like a stone or leaping into the air and sprinting away. This part is hard... players don't react that quickly because they haven't just been shot. In fact, they can't. This is probably the biggest issue.

When you shoot someone it should look and feel like you've just shot someone, not like you've clicked your mouse... that's where immersion and things like this come in.

tl;dr: needs less obvious blood impact effect (leaking blood instead please) and more reaction effect.

The "blood splatter" you see is actually a decision so players can tell if they hit someone or not. It's not like there is a cloud of blood spraying around when you hit someone unless it's from a bigger caliber to the head but that would not be limited to a cloud of blood only...

As well as this I would like to see blood dripping from the body and blood trails.

Hello there

I'd rather have a more realistic impact  (ie not much visible blood spray etc, although blood and bits of cloth can fly about IRL) and use blood trails to see if i have wounded a character and then perhaps track him.

I'd also like to see something like the "tw Fall" mod from A3 when a character is hit to simulate the impact from the round.

Here's a snippet from some WW2 documentary. No gore as such, but viewer discretion is advised.

REMOVED

Shot at very close range by multiple .30-06 rounds, but no visible blood spatter. At all!

Yet the impacts are quite clear through the motions of his body and clothing. That's what I'd prefer to see. It's both more realistic and less shocking than action movie blood spatter (of course, depending on the location of the wound).

Also, players might not know whether someone has been hit or not. That adds tension (or at least it would if death messages were disabled).

Hello there

Do not post videos like that again. It doesn't matter if its historic. A vid of somebody being executed is not appropriate for these forums.

You know better than this.

I posted a while back about how i would really like to see better screams in dayz .People left behind that got cut off from there freinds being eaten by infected.

The same as Hearing gunshots in the distance it would be awesome to hear the gruesome random scream of a man or a woman every so often would just be soOoo soo good for atmosphere it doesnt come across as something that would be difficult to implement ?? but hopefully we will see this in the standalone with dog howles ^_^
