More detailed world.

Recommended Posts

Hello people, with this suggestion i'd like to suggest a more detailed enviroment, suitable to the apocalypse. Feel free to add ideas of your own.

Signs of Government response: Perhaps a convoy of humvees by the side of the road, maybe a driver half-pulled through the window, Dead infected and soldiers everywhere. empty gun magazines, bullet casings, High chance of military loot. I think that something like this scattered around the map here and there would be interesting, it would be cool finding an abandoned convoy of Hummer's on the road into cherno or something, perhaps lots of infected nearby.

Quarantine centers: Imagine something like this near the town center of chernogorsk, bodies strewn everywhere, Tents with Rows of body-bags, flies everywhere, fallen barricades, Dead bodies in Broken Hazmat suits, crashed heli blocking the road.

Plane crashes: From a military cargo plane to an aer lingus flight filled with infected, the possibilities are almost-endless, maybe even a plane with an undetonated nuclear bomb.

Abandoned survivor hideouts: From the apartments in cherno to green mountain, Dead bodies hanging from trees, barricaded houses with gun magazines and bullet cartridges inside.

Hospital of horror: Rocket showed is hospital interiors in a recent development blog, how about blinking lights, bloody handprints, infected in hospital dressing gowns?.

Yeah, wrong country for HMMWVs....and why not add tanks while we have a high chance for valuable miltary loot? Just get in, drive to the coast and shoot new spawns... goal achieved. Yeah and of course M1s or else you won't have thermal.

Well the army of chernarus use humvees in regular Arma 2, plus i found a humvee in the NW airfield. And no tank's, too overpowered, not like anyone would know how to use them unless they spent months learning or drove one in the military. And BTW killing fresh spawns is not nice.

Beans for you. It's no new idea, but it has to be said from time to time. I's say the L4D2 levels are pretty intense and show many signs of human resistance. Although I'd reduce the amount of chaos and destruction, I'd say they are pretty good. Expecially cherno and elektro would need a LOT of signs of human resistance.

Why not add tanks without ammo or a broken gun? Then they would be mainly used for protection against the zeds. And if you mean that you can just get to the coast without getting harmed, there's not that much difference to regular vehicles. A fresh spawn can't destroy a tank because he /she doesn't have a gun, but then he/she couldn't destroy a car either, so...

Boarded windows, fortified subways, drainage tunnels, abandoned cabins in the woods, street blockades, nuff said.

Obviously I can't really say anything that hasn't already been revealed but the world just looks and feels a lot more 'apocalyptic'. Not so much the small towns (As you'd expect. There wouldn't have been as much activity there) but Cherno, for example, looks like a warzone.

I can't upload any screenshots of my own but here are a couple from the DevBlogs that people might have missed...

A plane crash and semi-destroyed building in Cherno...

Lootable wrecked cars. Found all over the place...

A military outpost, replacing Balota deer stands...

Having a detailed world is so important for DayZ untill there is more features and ideas implemented that give the player more substance for the never ending " END GAME " debate. Huge buildings to explore like LARGE factories with endless hallways of machine shops and conveyor belts blah blah.

I think even the "simplish" idea of having doors locked to buildings and trying to work out a way to get in or trying to break that door if u cant find a key.. just alot of small things like this added together would really make the difference

Like Dishonoured, where you could find different ways of getting into a building (Through the roof with some crafty teleportation magic? or through a sewer?

Big sewers under Cherno and maybe another big city would be cool.
