Pitch Black have a place in the standalone? Flashlight Play?

Hello everyone so i was playing some DayZ origins last night and when it hits around 12pm it get seriously dark I mean enough so you cant see.

I know im not meant to link videos here but hear me out.

If you watch that and see how i have to use a flashlight to guide my teammates shots at a guys camp. I think that would be awesome in the standalone! Leave your thoughts below or on the comments of that video. Interested to see how the community feels :D

Night time dayz is for me the best time. :D

Biggest trouble is not so many players for killing. :(

I would like to see players forced to play when is very dark for 1 hour out of every 5 so they can make great experiences. and play in elektro with the torch. :P

i'll just log over to a daylite server...

sorry but stumbling around in pitch black is like the opposite of fun.

no interest in playing dayz on nite servers.

its not near any realism to see complete darkness at night almost anywhere on the world when there is not a lot of electricity/lighting around. The sky would be full of stars which would bright the night fair enough.

I can see where you guys are coming from. And its maybe too dark but i would like to see night time to be more tactical. Like there is a plus and a minus from moving at night. Thanks for your input though guys, just putting this suggestion across and the outcome in that video is pretty cool :D

DayZ is the best experience at night ! some of my best gaming experiences of my entire was playing dayz at night time ! till everyone worked out that friggin brightness cheat !

 

In my oppinion dayz was 2 different games... one at night and one at day.. the intensity level went through the roof at night ! fair it was dark and hard to see but the things that would happen were friggin crazy !!!

Yes I think it does. However lots of people complain about pitch black nights, or won't play during that time, and that means a lot of servers are either day only or full moon.

 

 

 

Also, I think sometimes people forget that if it was actually pitch black in real life, survivors would probably be sleeping. :lol:

IF time was advanced at all.. I'd like to see at least a 2.5-3 hour night cycle. Enough time to enjoy sunset and sunrise and some nice nighttime gameplay but not enough to completely kill a server. Personally, I'd play nothing but night if NVGs and gamma wasn't an issue. It offers a much better pve experience and sunset/sunrise can be pretty gorgeous if the weather permits.

I used to hate night time.

 

I now go out of my way to find night servers. Overall I hope night in the SA isn't shit (i.e. It actually simulated night). It would be nice if they make flashlights usable as well (i.e. Soften them around edges so they're useable inside buildings. )

But there should be now more electricity in Chernarus thanks to the outbreak...of course they should disable the street lamps for the SA... While you might see the outlines where the ground and sky meet the ground would still be shades of black if there was not enough light coming from the moon.
