Road blocks?

Hi all,

Only wondering who built those anoying roadblocks that are in most Chernarus roads?

Was it the zombies or civilians trying to defend themselves from zombies ( infected damn you)

Seriously, they have no other purpose other than to annoy players and force you to take the long route around them, mostly on grass and dirt thus seriously slowing your vehicle down.

Problem for the driver, but an oportunity for the near by sniper to get some gear and a car for free :rolleyes:

Boneboys is correct. All the rubble and destroyed vehicles in the map were placed by Rocket or some other dev via one of the map editors.

There's no official story to DayZ at the moment.

As said, there is no official backstory,

Here's how i see it,

Civilian population start to become infected, weve no idea how long this takes, could be a matter of hours or days even weeks, but at some point the situation gets out of hand so the military are sent in to try and contain the infection, this means preventing people from leaving the area.

But the civilians dont like that idea one bit, they want to get the hell out of there, normally they wouldnt have much choice, not much you can do against fully armed troops, unless of course the military also start to become infected throwing the whole operation into chaos, civilians manage to get hold of military equipment and a mini civil war breaks out.

The roadblocks are put there by the civilians in a desperate attempt to disrupt the movement of troops who are at this point ordered to contain them by any means necessary.

In the end its all futile, the infection is unstoppable and starts spreading out of the area leaving only a few survivors who seem to have a higher immunity to the virus.

Hey, we have cleared roads on our server :) we didn't much like the road blocks either, so my boyfriend removed them. Then we found out it removed Stary Sobar's Camp, and the fake camp outside of blota airstrip. So my boyfriend recreated both of them. And now the Blota Airstrip has real tents instead of fake! If you wanna check out the server, the info is in my sig!

I think that the road blocking detritus is a good thing. All of that annoying debris greatly ups the tension when you're trying to hastily get through a town. The obstructions really came into good use when zombies were given the ability to attack players in ground vehicles. I remember many times early in my DayZ career trying to get through Gorka or some similar place on an open vehicle and panicking as I got stuck on those roadblocks and had to backtrack or go around. I hope that similar challenges make their way into the SA.

Trying to beat a hasty retreat out of a town in a TRACTOR, I hit some crap in the street. I was somehow going fast enough to get ejected from the vehicle - which I didn't think was possible - passed out and got attacked, died.

AFAIK the people of Chernarus just trew their junk and garbage on the streets for years and years, they didn't care about hygiene. It's normal procedure in those countries.

Damn true, and to think that only toilets in the whole country are in those Bar buildings or the wooden ones outside.

Also i couldnt see a single bathroom on entire map. Lol people there are pigs.
