They have been mentioned at least once before, and to repeat, I would LOVE a spear. Doubt I'd get my koa 'ihe added, but hey, a broomstick with a hunting knife duck taped to it would do me good too.

Make it part of crafting

1. Use hatchet to prep a piece of wood

2. Use Hunting knife on some game to prep leather strips

3. Use Toolbox to disassemble hunting knife to remove handle

4. Tie the hunting knife tang to the pole with leather strips

it should have 2-3 times the reach of the hatchet in H2H (in addition to a throwable weapon) but also have a H2H minimum range.

I love this idea, maybe add some different sized pieces of wood and/or knife lengths to add more items

Why not add craftable wood weapons like spears or bows?

With some wood, a string and a knife you could make a spear to throw or a bow.

Please, please, please, pleaseeeeee give us melee weapons..

Axes, baseball bats, claws, knuckle dusters, swords, clubs, maces, star pickets, spears, whips, nun-chucks

even rocks and sticks!!!

Something to atleast still go on with after you have run out of ammunition. Too many times i've aggroed a horde, killed every single one except for one... But have nothing to do but run. And just keep going.

I would say that adding the ability to pull a branch off a tree and combining it with a hunting knife would be a good way to take zombies out and also give you a bit more reach than they have. Include rope or duct tape as a requirement to put it together. These types of spears do work.

Glad to see the positive reaction. Seemed really obvious to me, I find it strange that the animals are so slow and stupid. Obviously it hasn't been possible to work on them much so far.

Animals should also come to water for a drink. Then you could camp next to a pond and wait for them to come by.

Herd behaviour would be nice. Imagine frightening a herd of goats in one direction while your partner lays in wait for an ambush.

Fashioning spears might be useful. Skip to 4:00 in this video. Most people will find it pretty gruesome, but very appropriate for the game.

Dont worry Het, there have been streamline concepts before, brought out of love and lust:

Flashlight but with a bayonet , so then you can flash them and stab, do zombies get blinded ? If they do it would be so cool. Or you could flash it on and off really fast and cause them to have a seizure ? if the zombie was an epiletic before it got zombie-ized the epilepsy could carry over- then you could stab it.

what about a fishing rod, with a bayonet taped or riveted on ? You could put a raw steak on it and dangle it down a ladder in a building, when the zombie smells the meat and comes up you could hook it and then stab, if it was an epileptic zombie you could then flash him on and off and stab him again too. I love fishing, sturgeons would be about the same size as a zombie and you can catch them so i think you could catch a zombie ok. , maybe if they follow you into the water then your rod becomes the primary ?

Shoe bayonet like in spy movies, you still need the rod and the meat though to lure the zombies, lure them then when they get close you can jumpo out from behind the door or out of a closet or box and start kicking them with your flick shoe bayonet. or you could make a trap hole with bayonets all on the bottom poking up like in vietnam war movies and cover the hole with something, probbly cardboard and put meat on top and then hide and watch. If the zombie didnt die but was just stuck and spiked on the bottom then you could jump down and kick it.

besides taping a bayonet to a hatchet ? like the handle end so it was double edged weapon? Or bayonets on the wheels of cars so you can do leg cuts on zeds and bandits and on the grille to for bayonet ramming. Plus they can open doors and food cans and have the handle unscrewable so you can have a mini bayonet inside.

Well what about if you could cover yourself in steak and stand or crouch in a corner, when the zombies comes to eat the meat then you simply move the steak off your face so you can see or just use an eye fillet. Once you can see them through the fillet just pop bayonets out of your shoe and start kicking. You could use your mini bayonet as backup if your feet get stuck in the zombies bones or gristle.or tendons.Bayonets could spaw in the firdge neat the butter.

If you wanted to climb i suppose you could ? would baldes hold you up ? Bayonets probbly would be better i think. I would only climb if i needed to get access to a waterway, say a tree over a river so i could fish for Sturgeon. If i needed to then i would use bayonets to get me past the steepest points of the tree, like stab it in the limb and then maybe use string slung around the handle to rapell down, so then the bayonet becomes like an anchor point. If the bayonet had a good sized handle then the rope would fit inside near the mini bayonet... like the same string that sean connery used in The Rock to dangle that guy off the building by only his wrist. Thats strong string, and i believe even Sturgeon would struggle to snap it.

Are you saying, if i am reading this correctly , that i tape my bayonet to the bolt with Seans strong string attached to it so in effect i have a retrievable shootable bayonet ?? Dude..insane ! i would easily catch the biggest sturgeon in all of Chernarus ! The only item i would need for my fishing trip besides this then would be polarised nvg's so i could see into the water and pick out the correct Sturgeon, there are many Sturgeon but there is always one that swims lower than the rest ..the bottom dwelling Sturgeon. Has anyone mentioned polarised nvg's for fishing yet ? You could easily tape the mini bayonet to them for headbutts as well.

So besides the timewarp link there is no mention eva of either of these items ? I fail to see how these suggestions cannot be seriously looked at ?

Not just spears, but all kinds of medieval goodies. A museum could prove invaluable source for shields, helmets and even more exotic weapons, like flails or halberds. Police can be the official sponsor for riot equipment also ;)
