DayZ Standalone Relase Date?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone had a approximate dat for the release of the DayZ standalone public Alpha. I have decided against buying ArmA II:CO just for DayZ because I have heard that the standalone alph will be coming out in June. June is an ok time, but I was looking for something ore specific. I am gong to be waiting for the day to come and I ope it is soon.

PS: I hope that this is in the right section (I am a new player, right?). Also if they are any errors it is because the keyboard on iPads suck.

There is rumor of a tweet that Dean tweeted saying that the game will be announced tommorow

Whether or not this is true

wait until tommorow

They said they would reevaluate where the game stands in June, then think about posting a release date. Of course everyone takes that to mean that they'll release in June. I'm hoping their correct but from my understanding the only thing keeping them from doing the public alpha now is because they don't have some key program in place that will allow players to connect to the servers.

Just wait and see, no need to start a forum post.

We have been playing the waiting game for a bit, surely we can hold out for a while to see if this is true?

I would put my money on 'soon' but that would range from sometime next week to next month. Or the rumor mill could be correct and it releases tomorrow, either way I've got money on my card to buy it on Steam.

Where did you hear that?

The last announcement was that we definitely shouldn't expect it any time before June. It's pretty silly to interpret "not before June" as meaning "it is coming out in June"...

There will be a closed alpha before public alpha too, so I wouldn't expect to have your hands on it for 2-6 months, or more :P

More like "today". It's 7:30AM in this time zone and rocket just tweeted his breakfast. :)

It would very very highly surprise me if they'd release today lol. However, deducing from Rocket's tweets the release is soon, which means anywhere from 1 week to 4-6weeks.

Remember when He said soon and meant December?

Dean Hall is back in office so I'd assume that development on the Standalone will be much faster for release with him leading additional projects for the future of DayZ.

All we can do is wait and see.

Latest update (Monday Evening) was, that the lead developer wasn't in that day and that he will get the detailed update about what to there is to do today. (tuesday)

2 Possibilities: it's finished or it isn't.

But as it looks like, the Server-client-architecture is "almost done" and Rocket said that he would go into the next testing-phase if it turned out to be.

2 Things we know:

1) We will get more information in this week

2) Streamers will get access "very soon"

About waiting or not for the SA: Arma 2 CO is a great game, with a large and dedicated community. I've bought it on Steam in august 2012 and I've never looked back since.

Even back in 2012 there was discussion about 'waiting or not' for the Dayz SA, because there was 'talk' of it releasing back in december 2012. I'm glad I didn't wait for the SA, but bought Arma 2 in stead; I've had so much fun with it!

Still: I would love to play the SA, so I hope it will release soon too!

Correct, and I can't wait to play it! Hopefully this June.

No, no, no. IT ISN'T BEING RELEASED TOMORROW. It's rumoured that a date will be released tomorrow, not the game.

Also, I don't think streamers are gaining early access any more. Rocket's new line of thinking seems to be that if it's ready for streamers to show footage then it's ready for release.

No, no, no. Today not tomorrow. Rocket will probably tweet or Reddit how soon we will able to buy an alpha key on steam.
