[MOD] Bandit and Hero-Camo differing from SurvivorCamo

Recommended Posts

Hi, i had some thinking how to differ from Bandit, Suvivor and Hero by the camos if worn.

right now all look the same - makes it impossible to differ whos maybe good and who'll be mostlikley be evil-minded.

so i came to the conclussion that 3 different camos would make sense.

Ill begin with the Bandit Camo:

IMO this fits the needs for bandits: Blaclava to hide the Face and two different camos so it looks a bit like trousers and jacket where "stolen" in different raids.

Now the Hero-Camo, and i realy searched long and compared many camos but in the end i gues this one fits good for a heroic Hero :) The helmet should be replaced with the olivecolored baseball-cap the hero already has:

The Survivor-Camo should stay the way it looks right now.

what do you guys think?

Two things...

First off: Your suggested "Hero camo" looks too military for a zombie apocalypse.

Second: Why would a bandit steal someones pants?

thx to your reply.

to the hero-camo look:

first thing my intention was to let it look as cool as the Hero-skin.

second thought was there are 3 military AFs and 4 military camps - so i gues the clothingparts would be "findable" in our chernarus world ;)

Well, the bandit would steal it for camoflage-reasons i gues. my intention was to make it look some sort of cool as also improvised.

I don't think clothing is going to work like this in the standalone, maybe this suggestion should just be about the mod.

And furthermore, I think this idea is kind of weird. If you were wearing camo clothing and were a bandit, and you decided to trade clothes with somebody, would they be putting on different clothing? Would it be the same and make them look like a bandit? Would only bandits be able to put on bandit camo clothing? And being someone who doesn't like the humanity system, I think that camo and ghillies should look the same on everyone because then there's that tension of not knowing, that makes the game so much better.

Do you not notice how similar the two camos you've shown are?

As it stands, the current (official) bandit skin has white rags around the player's head.

The Hero has jeans, a vest, and blue/white squared jacket.

The current skins have far more indifferences than the ones you've shown.

In the SA there will be more than 150 (I think?) different clothing items. You will be able to choose what you like/have/find to wear. Also R is probably gonna make a new humanity system for SA.

Pretty sure that there won't be any instant clothing changes for heroes/bandits in the standalone.

Eg. bandits would be identified by the blood stains on their clothes (hinting murder) rather than a rag on their head.

thx for the hint, will change the title!

thx for your interest an questions:

first off, the standard civilian-clothing will stay the same as now.

and you still just find the camo cothing-package like now in residential areas and helicrashes, but when you wear them how they look on your Player depends on the humanity you got, like bandit and hero-skinn

- as a survivor, from 0-4999 humanity you keep the current Britisch DPM-Woodland camo with DPM pattern Plate-Carriervest and brown shirt.

- if you are a bandit and put on the camo-clothes your playermodel will become the Bandit-Camo

- if you gained 5000+ humanity and became a Hero and you put on the camo-clothing you'll get the Hero-Camo.

just to get the chance to differ with worn camoclothing from Bandit, survivor and Hero. right now all with camo look the same what disables the hole humanity-system right now.

and it brings in a bit more variety in camoclothing than we have right now. what i guess is also a nice sideeffect.

and yes, i know that the ghilie lacks the same. but i dont see a chance how to change that here.

I actually like the idea sort of, though I do agree the Hero camo is too military-ish.

Personally, I'd like the whole idea of different skins to be taken out of the SA. I'd much rather see people choosing there own styles. I think this is what Rocket and crew are shooting for by generating so many different wearable items. This should give people the chance to express their individual tastes, and its one of the things I'm excited for in the SA. In short, I think your suggestion would be better implemented in the current DayZ mod than in the SA. At least, I hope so. Nice bandit skin though. I think he looks pretty cool

Seems kind of strange to me, the same clothing would look different on different people? I'd much rather the humanity system be done away with completely.

That's how the current survivor skin works.

why strange? its the same way right now for "civilian clothing". if you change back to civilian from camo or ghili, civilian clothing looks also different depending on your humanity (bandit / suvivor / hero) its just "civilian clothing" and not "bandit clothing" or "hero clothing"!

and so the item name is just as right now "Camo Clothing" and how it looks just depends on your humanity too.

its IMO only a logical step to give those three humanity-types own camo-clothings too.

Agreed, heroes like me never put on camo suit and exceptionally use the Ghillie not to be confused with disguised bandits.

I like the Idea, the bandit skin is rather cool, maybe a black bally would be better, hero skin should be a beret or military floppy hat :)
