Suggestions for where the shipwreck should be placed

Recommended Posts

So the dev team recently announced that they have created a sweet looking ship wreck but have not decided where to put it. i thought it would be a good idea to see if we could come up with some ideas of where we would like to see it.

Personally i think it would be a good idea to have it between Krutoy Cap and Solinchniy. hopefully this will get more people going west and then heading north to Berezino ( the most underused city in the game)

they have released four pictures of the ship.

I think it should be down near Kamenka, so it would make the town a little interesting and actually good to spawn in.

I think it should be placed at the NEAF.

It will make the forums a more amusing place for a while.

I think it should be far up the map, north east. Either 200m off the coast or in the inlet up there.

I don't think it should be anywhere down south or near spawn points, it'd just turn into another pvp area. It should be a challenge to get to and reward you with some sweet loot (if you're lucky), maybe a great big waterproof coat or something similar.

Hmmm, either near Kamenka, near Skalisty Island, below Berezino, or near that little inlet up far North.

Not keen on putting it too far North - there's already next to no incentive to play further South, adding more good loot spawns/interesting sights up North is just going to make it worse. Not suggesting it should be put 200m off Elektro or anything, but somewhere different would be nice.

Well there's the two major cities down south plus the new swamps and potentially Utes island too (with whatever they put on that). I was just thinking it'd be nice to have something to aim for further up the map apart from NWAF.

Indeed, although I would presume that the North, like the South will be getting a bit of a makeover- at the moment, it's the NWAF, NEAF and a whole crap-ton of forests and hills that all look the same, and the shipwreck won't help that, as it's miles away from that central Northern region. Out of interest (can't remember if this has been decided or debated yet), are they continuing the trend of spawning along the Coast, or are they also including inland spawns in the SA? Because if they're randomising the spawns, it'll likely make Elektro and Cherno slightly (and only slightly) less dangerous and pvp-focused.

I'd imagine we'll still be spawning on the south coast although it's just a guess. I think the SA will contain a backstory for those that want to find it (via books, clues ect) so it may make a bit more sense then.

Rocket mentioned they would have a look at it but sounds like they are keeping the coast spawns.

"Any total DayZ hipsters from back when there was only one server will remember everyone used to spawn at the petrol station West of Cherno at the start and we are kind of back to that point now as it was the first building I configured with the new item spawning system so I've configured the spawn for that location while we are testing. We will have to look at it and test some things, I think definitely one of the advantages of coastal spawns was it gave a reputation to the inland towns and I think more then ever with the new areas we want to maintain that so coastal spawns will probably remain a good idea."

Between Krutoy Cap and Solnichiy. As someone said, make it 200m off-coast, so you're like "Wait, I see something over there.." and then when you go closer, you see a huge wreck off coast. Sounds good, rye?

I agree, beans for you sir

Perhaps place it in Guba Bay, past Black Lake and litterally to the far right of Olsha Village. Probably far enough away so that you can just see it from standing ontop of the Olsha Mountain/Hill top

Last time I went up there it was generally pretty empty mostly people consider it prime camping ground as it is pretty bare and not alot of people go up there, I'd love to see it very rocky up there in Guba Bay, possibly lending itself to a ship graveyard. Shallows and rocky areas would certainly blend well with some sort of ship wreck. Also in terms of loot I think it would be best to place the "majority" of it as industrial loot with a special chance to find unique loot.

In a Cove or on an Island or something If its turned on its side even better it shouldnt be near a spawn and should be Like NWAF Only its harder to lockdown to the fact you have a massive Cliff face or a full set of dunes covering the area

I don't think it should be too far in water, since the screenshot's show that it's ripped apart in two pieces. If it was too far in water, it would sink instantly (duh).

Not if it was on a sand-bar or shallow (ish) waters.

How about in the middle of the Swamp, as that is in a daft location. (Next to the Sea? Really?)

I would like to see it in Cherno Harbour tbh, with a few other smaller craft.

Place it far up NE, and also place it so you need a boat to get to it.

It should be alittle effort to get to, not just another easy loot spot.

At first I was thinking around kamenka, but I like the idea of putting it up north. Possibly by the other shipwreck in Chernarus. I hope the ship is in a swamp!!

It should be in the middle of the map.

A kind of WTF? moment.

The zombies are a type of fish. A giant wave flooded the land and left the zombies (a type of fish) behind. Also the wave left a boat near stary
