Pending Hotfix: Build 1.7.1.3

Killed a guy who had an M16A2 and a crapload of awesome items, he had obviously been playing for many days. I used a Makarov. Took all the stuff. I was awesome for a few minutes. Went somewhere safe, logged off, had dinner, came back on... everything was gone, had all these weird items and a bloodpack.

I got alpha'd like many others. Probably karma in my situation, but still.

Still getting some serious desync issues. In a server a few moments ago i ran into a barn past a person who was running out. Grabbed a weapon and waited for the guy to come back in.

Suddenly just died. No bang, noone at the door, was clear of the windows.

The desync is my biggest issue with gameplay. Can live with loopy zombies, but being raped by a person who (as far as the victim is concerned) doesnt exist is pretty horrible.

There also seems to be an increase in people ending up in the wilderness. Several people on the IRC in the last couple of hours have been stuck, and i lost my FN FAL/gps/rangefinder a while ago to the bug too.

Also, there's A LOT of servers either updating the name but not the files, or rolling back files but forgetting the name. Can any server admins reading this make sure your servers are either updated correctly or have the correct name.

It would be nice for the displayed mission name to contain the server version.

I had a M4A1 SD with 6 STANAG SD magazines' date=' ghillie suit, night vision, etc etc.. Updated from 1.7.1.1 to 1.7.1.2, ended up with nothing but a Makarov and a whole bunch of hatchets and crowbars in my backpack....truly wtf...

My stats was 500+ Zed kill, 0 Murder & 0 Bandit kills..

I know this is still Alpha and it's pointless to complain.. see you at Beta..

I really like this idea, it seems more logical that you spawn in your "own house" rather than on the beach. Especially if you spawn at night and have to go out of your house, hearing all those moaning from the zombies outside is pretty good horror. But maybe you shouldn'T spawn with the hatchet.

It would be nice also if you could spawn on piles of dead bodies or near some empty medical tents.

The idea is that maybe you were showing signs of getting infected or got into a comma and the medics considered you dead so threw you out in a pile of dead bodies. Your body fought the infection and generated antibodies so now a few days later you wake up with less than 12k life and with nothing but some bandages on you.

Or maybe you tried to be evacuated by the army when everything started and went to one of those outposts that has soldiers dropped on the floor but they thought you're too infected and shot you.... only it turns out the shot didn't hit anything critical and you were just out for a while and in the meantime the army retreated or got overrun by zombies.

Sort of like how it was with the Jews and death marches during the Holocaust - who couldn't keep walking was shot and left on the side of the road to die.

Nice to see another hotfix is comming. I hope at some point you fix the unfixable chopper fueltank issue *fingers crossed*

I have a few bugs.

The first is I can't get to the side or global chat channel (or whatever it is that goes to everyone). Whatever I send nobody can hear on 'direct communication'.

The second is I keep getting disconnected' date=' it counts and eventually disconnects.

Oh and one more, if the servers say 48 or 49/50 then I just cant connect it says they are full, but the number doesn't change to 50.

the side chat thing is a result of the beta patch (required for the 1.7.1 update). as far as i can tell, this is an intended result and will not be changed. as for the direct chat thing, are you positive people CANNOT hear you? or they are just not responding? (possibly because they speak a different language or are unsure of how to switch to direct, or they just dislike you)

side chat is controlled by the server admins. alot of them have it turned off.

We have no control over side chat. That's controlled in the mission file and was removed by Rocket around the time 1.7 came out. If you didn't update your beta patch to the one that included the mission file setting that allowed it, you could still use side chat.

I only use beta servers, and I always play on servers with the latest build. Some servers I can see/use Side chat, most I can't. I've had the beta patch installed and kept current for weeks now.

Some nice ideas on varying spawn locations here! I like the idea of starting in one of those small brown houses, passed out on the kitchen floor with NO SPECIFIC LOOT, just a backpack and few bits of loot in the house, which varies each time to mix it up!

are helicopter back in the game?

I am also wondering this after seeing the fueltank hotfix. Are heli's back? I thought not since they were causing lag and desync problems?

Updated to 1.7.1.2. My main weapon and hatchet is missing and I had a extra weapon in my backpack that when I logged in now somehow went from the backpack and now was my main weapon.

Do weapon take a larger space in the backpack now? After login and loosing my main weapon I had some free space in my backpack where my extra had been. Went to a close deerstand and found exactly the weapon I had had in my backpack. But now it took I think 6 slots more in the backpack than the same weapon I had there before?

I wanted to bring up this issue, i also haven't had time to read through the bug reports/tons of forums pages, so hopefully this isn't repeated:

Myself (happened 4 times on 3 different servers) and my clan mates are finding that when we spawn in, our primary and secondary weapons are gone, replaced by a Makarov with 2 clips. The 1st time it happened, I had a Lee and a revolver, 2nd time a AK-74 and 1911, 3rd time I have a Winny/Revolver and 4th time a AK-74 Kobra/G17. Hope this bug is squashed soon! Thanks again Rocket and GJ with the mod!

Is there anything we can do about servers that re-enable the global and side chat? I've played on quite a few servers that were 1.7 and later, and requiring the latest beta patch, yet had side and global chat enabled for everyone. I'm not sure if it's caused by them running 1.7 with an old version of the mission file (if this is even possible) or if they are manually editing said mission file to enable the chat. If its the latter, it seems that it should be grounds for those servers being blacklisted, since modifying the official files is supposed to be a no-no as far as I'm aware.

pretty sure I found a crash side yesterday. but with the nonstopspawns I didnt even try to get any closer cause I was alone out in the woods...

I found two gray crashed hueys yesterday (first two I ever found).

Never seen a repairable helo.

Is it necessary that melee weapons have ammo? because it is really glitchy and pretty stupid to be honest.

was on 4 servers. all crashed within 5-10 mins.

will play later when hotfix is out.
