Guys...this sounds crazy, but what if...the "Everest" that he refers to all the time is actually Dayz Sa? Like as if it is a mountain for him he has to conquer, overcome all challenges and do it in time?

That's EXACTLY what I was saying... That it might be a metaphor.

Well the Friday dev blogs traditionally come out on Fridays if we are going to get one that week, that being said Rocket and co will be at Pax East this week.

We don't need or want everyone to buy the game on release. This is a BAD THING because then NOBODY can play it.

Good Luck with that, everyone is going to buy it at the first moment they can on release. I hope you have taken into account your "anti game" will hit many peoples buttons and they will want it. Even those who have no info on it will see the price and think "DayZ? where have I read about that? I must have it"

If you cannot support the game on release via servers, or whatever, you need to ensure Steam tells customers they have sold out on a regular occasion. If that is needed for a defined transition to allow access for players, then I am sure private server owners would take up the slack, sooner with conditions to allow access to code top secret (trusted only and I am not an expert on the ins and outs of why you don't wanv it to be sold in huge ammounts, so sorry if I am wrong)

the majority of us here understand what your facing (Believe it or not) and we would also like a polished game, we can wait (Even though we can be an impatient set of buggers, because of what you have shown us and allowed us to experience) We have no choice.

I do detect DayZ is becoming an Albatross around your neck and we suffer and feel the stress also, We (Your customers) want it ASAP but logic says if it aint ready, It aint ready. If players are so impatient they cannot wait, it is not your fault, twats everywhere. Communication is a 2 way tool. I have always found it amazing how twitter and tumblr seem to take presedence over DayZ Forums, We sometimes seem to be "down the line" which as a fan and follower seems a bit poor IMO. I am sure you have your reasons however and try to balance it out.

And trust me, We do know what DayZ Mod is, was and could be, thats why we are still here, some playing and some waiting.

I am now subscribing to "sod the devblogs" just announce your not going to do weekly releases or even fortnightly ones. Release an update when YOU are ready and feel comfortable in releasing one. that way your quelling and informing those who expect clockwork precision devblogs each week. I can only dream you are training for Everest, your work with DayZ and that must knock it out of you. And as a fan, with respect (Not bum lick crawley) I would wish the best for you as opposed to running on fumes when your gonna need it crawling up a huge ass mountain.

in this case...

Last but not least I think we really need an official BI/DayZ/SA forum, which should be the the first place to search for information and anouncements and to meet the devs. Alpha feedback could be handled there as well the same way as they do with Arma 3.

:(

I created a thread on this very Subject, got no real answer. Asked Rocket on Facebook and was ignored. Ask him something totally self indulgent and no doubt I would have got an answer. Over it tbh and probably wont be posting any future Dev blogs on our Site. The Dev Blogs turned out how he went into hiding when he didnt hit his release date for the end of 2012, the guy goes missing yet is on twitter, Redit, Facebook, you name it. Totally over it. Will come back when game is released

Hello there

this is an interesting aspect. I think the guys are very busy indeed and perhaps have nothing to show than we can *see* (ie optimisations/meetings etc).

But it doesn't take long to jot down a quick forum/twitter/facebook/friendface post to the the masses know that there's nothing to reveal or the blog will be late etc.

As the masses are somewhat expecting the blogs on a regular basis, mistakenly or not, a quick post would smooth the way.

:/ but if they really have "nothing" left to show...that would imply, there we are, far far from a release i guess

I heard a rumour Rocket is apparently scouting out a new map for the SA, some kind of mountainous map resembling the Himalayas.

Frostbite, hmmm, I'd like to get a zed to chase me up a mountain and see how long it takes to freeze. You might find us side by side one day when the thaw comes, like the end of the Thing (80s version). One of us might still be active so watch your backs.

Think I'd prefer Rocket to prepare for his trip right now and maybe hand over the PR to someone else, though he seems like a little bit of a control freak (and that's not an insult) so someone may need to have a word in his shell-like (that's 'ear' in cockney).

You know it makes sense.

He's more likely preparing for PAX East (they're flying out tomorrow) right now but I get your point.

He's a very busy boy, I forgot that (it's early)... I suspect a devblog will be released to coincide. :)

there's some big video game convention almost every month. it's kind a moot point
