What's up with people wanting to find No PvP servers?

If you want to play a game in which you "explore" and "survive" then go play a Forrest Simulator or something like that. I feel like most of you are missing the obvious, the game is made by a game which is an Army Simulator. SHOCKING, isn't it. This game was built and designed for the best and most realistic army simulator. You can't just avoid that.

So what will you do on a server with PvE, I don't mean the first few weeks, you explore, you loot and you make a base. Then what. Are you going to go with your newly found AS50 on sniper hill at Elektro and shoot zombies? Shoot your mates? Hunter deer?(Hunting Simulator 2013 everybody.)

As well as taking out bandits from the game, you're taking out the horror of walking down the streets of Cherno, nobody is afraid of zombies. You can easily out run them by going up a hill or running down one. The real problem is the bandits.

To make it worth both sides here. I'm not saying that DayZ PVP is perfect, but PvE is nothing better. There are the occasional robbers which will, as the name says, rob you. And there are those that kill you on sight. That's a pain in the ass, I should know, I've been murdered a hundred times like that.

TL;DR

DayZ is based on an Army Simulator, if you take PvP out, then you're taking 65% of the game out. PvP servers also have their downsides, but they are def. a lot better than PvE servers.(My opinion everybody.)

I completely understand PvE only servers. I am surprised at the "hate" for them.

The only issue I can see is if gear could be taken from the PvE server to a PvP server.

I'm also surprised at a brony not having the proper brony attitude here.

Each to their own, if you don't like it, you don't have to play it.

If you'd like to know why PvE works, please ask me, I'll PM you. It may not be to your taste but others "get it"

Not allowing PvP is pretty lame. Much as i try to avoid KoS behaviour, the game is about paranoia and fear. If you can't shoot other players, there is no real reward in teaming up or even just the satisfaction that comes from letting someone walk away when you could have been a twat and killed them.

I prefer to run alone, just because i'm an anti-social git, but i will help people out if the opportunity arises (not very often). The satifaction of killing a zed that is about to munch on a bambi, or a bandit who thinks that he is king of electro only comes around because you have the choice. I could equally chose to leave the bandit to occupy other people who might compete with me for food moving north out of town, or i could cripple the bambi and then add his beans to my stash, but it depends on what I feel, not on what the rules say.

I think whats happening is that the light pvp player is getting tired of a pvp dominated game...so they simply look for nonpvp servers. A pvp dominated server/game wont satisfy these players need for social interaction, they get this on nonpvp servers.

I dont think most of these players are 100% happy with this, they want pvp too...but to a lesser degree.

They are like women, they want harmony and love, friendship...and not someone telling them what to do unless they are naked.

the difference is it means that there are fewer 'survivor' type players on vanilla servers. This means that the chances of the people you meet being bandits is higher, which leads to more KoS and generally douchbaggery.

PvE without PvP means you can just sit around the supermarket in cherno on direct chat arguing about who has the best beans.

I think most players on PVE servers want a co-operative game in which they can survive alongside friends, I assume they have been created on account of constant betrayals on PVP servers. In short they want a co-operative survival game and not a competitive survival game, which is understandable but currently not very fun in my honest opinion.

The hate is probably people getting upset at the fact their *easy* kills are getting fed up and leaving.

I don't play on PvE servers. But I can see the attraction.

PvE servers say that you can walk up to someone and converse with them. Try that with any player on a non-pvp server. Enjoy respawning.

It's more about the community on PvE servers. And guess what? The CoD-faggots don't play on PvE servers because they can't l33t qu1cksc0p3 zombies.

... and who are you to dictate how people should play? Who are you to tell them to go play a "forrest simulator"?

You're no one; a nobody.

Clearly you're missing the obvious. And that's the fact that DayZ is an open world sandbox mod. So everyone can play any way they want to. Add to that the fact that private servers are an option. So now everyone truly can play how they want. They want base-building; done. They want aliens; done. They want 1000 vehicles; done. They want a dire environment where survival is next to impossible; done.

... and so on and so on.

Everyone can enjoy themselves. There's so much variety available and near endless possibilities. And yet for some of you, that's not acceptable. You seem to not like the fact that everyone could be happy. You guys just have to complain and carry on about how those others are "wrong", "clueless", "carebears", etc., etc.

Why can't you grow up, go off and continue enjoying playing on your servers while those others are off enjoying their servers?

I dont agree with PvE servers, but they are there for a reason and none of you have the right to judge someone just because of these servers.

Many of these servers are there for new players to dayz to learn the game before going into the deathmatch and getting sniped on spawn by a dmr spamming a whole mag.

If you wonder whats the point in them, then ask yourself what is the point in sitting on the coast with a sniper rifle killing new players.

Recently I joined a server that was noob friendly in the title, to see if there were any new player I could help out.

When I joined i was killed over and over by M107s auto aim glitch from the last patch as the admins had taken out all the weapons from the loot spawns and given themselves those guns. They were then telling people to meet them to help them in learning what dayz is about and sniping them and then saying:

"Welcome to dayz assholes"

And you wonder why people have PvE servers? Maybe because not everyone in the world thinks that camping for 9 hours to kill a unarmed player is fun and they want to maybe meet people they can trust then head to other servers.

This may shock you......but there are OTHER playstyles then KOS and theres nothing you can do about it

oh yea just other PVPers who actualy want to engage and fight.. not unarmed beach spawns..

this is why DayZ is always destined to have this problem, without mechanics that prevent it (which rocket clearly has no intention of adding), there will always be a seqment of the player base that will want seperate hives/servers to play on.

same as the 3rd person/1st person discussions..

or crosshairs no crosshairs, or no AS50/ full access to every weapon discussion..

it never ends..

People against PvE only can simply create PvP only counter-parties where everyone spawns with NVG, rangefinder and GPS, AS-50, L-85 with thermic visor and G-17, with modified loot tables to get ammo crates instead of tincans, so they can shoot each other into oblivion...

The way the standalone is going, where you can build bases, collect new clothes and make diaries for your character, it's certainly very much a role-playing type of experience, and therefore it's no wonder why some people like to play the game as a PvE experience, including not being shot at. Some might want the social aspect of DayZ, where they set-up camps and enjoy the 'living experience'. People may frown, but it's what others enjoy and who are you to say otherwise; people buy games for various reasons, so let them play how they would like.

The same can and will be said for the DayZ Standalone. There will be some hell-bent on roaming the land killing people, and others who frown on this, instead enjoy the salvaging and scavenging lifestyle, where they simply live and exist as an avatar.

I truly have better things to worry about than what other people want to do with their gaming time. If someone wants a PvE only server - the good news is this mod is set up so they can have exactly that. More power to them. I hope they enjoy themselves.

Will I join one of those servers? Not often, maybe never. Doesn't affect my game, though.

I've come to the realisation that this topic is pointless, because you can't change what a person likes.

With my post, i don't wanna say that PvP is bad, i just pisses you off a bit and you don't give a damn about it, as i said we will seek revenge on these douches. PVE only would be a bit boring too but is it really necessary to kill an other player who doesn't even got or only a small chance to defend himself? I don't really know how PvP players think, i mean shooting on a target that just runs around to aquire a kill and not even get the adrenaline in the rush of defending yourself. I was just telling my story but i didn't projected my hatred against PvP, i'm not even against it. Some PvP's are playing it sometimes like a CoD-Game, just to get a kill. As example, you spawn at the coast near Elektro and wan't to get some gear in a super-market or office or hospital. You have no weapons, only a can of beans, flashlight and a soda can and on the hill in elektro is a sniper just waiting for you entering a store and shoot you from a high distance, you just die and can't even tell where the shot came from and the sniper masturbates to his kill and laughs loudly in the side channel, wouldn't you then seek revenge?

I'm not against PvP, if it's not used as Duck Hunt, just as a normal encounter of an enemy group and ending in a firefight, then PvP is awesome.

Greatest thing about DayZ is that it brings players together, who would usually be divided on different servers, playing different multiplayer modes. DayZ isn't purely PvP, just like it isn't purely PvE, which means that the players you meet are unpredictable, as they are driven by as different motivations as people are in this thread.

If you purely want to PvP in DayZ, you head for the populated areas.

If you don't, then you play in the desolate and remote rural areas.

Pretty simple.
