What's up with people wanting to find No PvP servers?

In the past 4 days, at least 10 people have joined my server asking right away if this is a "No PvP" server.

How would that even be fun? What are they going to do? Farm the barracks all day?

Well, PvP is one of the key elements DayZ has. Taking out PVP is like taking out weapons in a TDM server. If you get an AS50 on a non-pvp server, what would you do with it? Kill zombies? That's a waste of time.

i've seen that alot too. and Bobby's right. Most to all player will KOS every chance they get, it's not even about killing for gear anymore, just for the sport, or to ruin someones day. i was killed the other day and the person that killed me didn't take any of my gear, and didn't hide my body. i know this because when i got back, everything was still there. i had a G36k with 4 mags, G17, NVG's, Rangefinders, Chezch Backpack, GPS and some other goodies. yet, not a single item was missing......not even the highly coveted....canned beans.

People should go back to CoD... All they do is get a weapon, camp at one spot and wait for people who actually want to play normally and kill them.

I was killed a week or so ago with all the goodies in my backpack and nothing was touched as well.

Not long after this mod was released I started playing and was killed more times by script kiddies then other players.Now its the other way around.

I cant remember the last time I seen a chopper flying or someone driving around simply because you will be KOS long before you can repair it.

Maybe to you its a "waste of time" but to others, maybe they gain more enjoyment from playing PvE? Like other people have said, with how everyone treats dayz as a deathmatch nowadays, maybe its nice to play a server once in a while that actually lets you explore and survive rather then being gunned down by some kid watching the coast with a DMR?

Not for me, but for those who dont like PVP playing with others it will result sooner or later in an "accident" with some one with a loose triggerfinger.

I can understand people hate the KOS scenario that is mostly active on all DayZ servers.

If people wanna play PVE only, I can understand that and I hope they find a server that suites them 1 day.

Which will end sooner or later in what I wrote a few posts above. First you only miss a can of beans in your tent, then some mags, then a gun and one day you get a axe in your head from behind.

That would be fine, except there's absolutely no challenge presented by the DayZ zombies, so I still don't understand it. PvE in ArmA I understand - there are dozens of AI soldiers trying to kill you and they stand a good chance of doing so. More importantly, there's actually a mission, an objective, to finish.

What's the excitement in shooting the same old boring, easy-to-kill, always respawning zombies? :huh:

IMO people playing on "PvE only" servers take away from the game as much as admins who modify starting load outs or provide high end gear for people.

As Rocket as said, the game is also a kind of social experiment.

What I've drawn from this is that given capability, opportunity, paranoia and anonymity most players are relative sociopaths in game. That, or the majority of the playerbase finds PvP more rewarding that surviving, which isn't unreasonable. Personally, I think there is still way too much ammo and functional weaponry in the game. I believe this will change in standalone.

Tbh we (me and our groupmembers) had several encounters with other clan/groups which ended up in big ass firefights (snipers vs snipers + cqc) all over the map, at the NWA, at Stary... think that's what you get when you roll out as a team. It creates a different kind of playstyle.. if you wander the map by yourself you need to be lucky to either run into friendly people or don't run into any1 at all. I'm not a bandit myself, probably why I get killed so many times... but when we're rolling out as a team most of the times we contact players first through direct chat and open fire when they dont respond or act hostile.

I dont mind a bit of PvP :)

While I personally agree with the OP it's really a case of each to their own really. Everyone likes their gameplay differently and should be able to find a server to suit.

For those pvp players out there, there is a Fallujah server QUE Z or something (Canadian) that's set up for Death match. Your equipped with full kit including m4 cco plus there is Apache helicopter and Humvees with 50cals.

I got a buddy of mine and his co-workers started a DayZ server with private hive, dunno if whitelisted or not it's password protected. Anyway

me and my friends, we were a group of three(including me) and two other douches on the server a co-worker from him. So we went to raid some cities and gather atleast one operational vehicle but as funny dayz can be we had three at the end of the day, without even looking for them. We set up our camp in the east of Berezhino in a forest. We went raiding Berezhino on foot and suddenlythe two other douches happend to be there and BANG, i'm dead. My friend panicked and tried to help me, since he didn't heard the DMR, i told him to run but it was too late and he died too. When we came back to our camp, all our Vehicles were empty and tires destroyed, the truck was gone. I was a bit mad but the icing on the top of the shitstorm cake was the comment of the enemy "Tooooooooo bad". I'm dead, i dealt with it but such morons just piss me off. Camping all the time with a damn DMR is so mature. We decided to gtfo from there and set up a new camp and while looting with hatchet's(Since we can't find any SD weapon) to defend ourselves, these two other guys flying around with a Huey, now three of them, we killed one but the other DMR douche got us all again. Atleast we had the balls to put up against them with pistols and not camping near the forest like a wussy. I wonder if they just kill other players to get loot, because they're man-hood isn't big enough to fight against zombies. Next time we get them. We will find a damn DMR or any other kind of sniping rifle and some assault rifles.

Btw what's up with the loot spawns? Either we drive there or walk a kilometer, nothing spawns, only empty tins and zombies. We need to wait about five min. to get something acceptable in a supermarket or barracks.
