But being this a community thread and not an admin abuse thread for DayZ admin attention, this should be compliant to the forum rules in their eyes. As a DayZ Player, I want to start this thread not to complain about admin abuse on private hive servers, but to keep players informed. Being as we spend hours upon hours playing on a server than to find out its being ran by 14 year olds with admin tools such as the map that shows everything down to your loadout when you are offline and where you logged out at. I recently came across this server "67.228.177.177:3357" and after a day of playing, logged out. I came back the next day to find my vehicle I parked in the middle of the woods blown up and one of their admins telling me thanks for the machine gun that I left in the blue van in the middle of nowhere, well hidden between two trees right after I logged in. The players should have a file that is encrypted in the game that makes them invisible to this map, and any modification of the file makes it useless, this way admins can see only hackers who mod the scripts. If you guys know a good server with admins with honesty, let me know. Also please warn us of the other servers out there. Again, this post is not a complaint to the admins or developers, but to actively participate in a private hive server watch list to help the community avoid wasting their time. Just hit that 'enter' key once in a while and do us all a favour. :)Anyway, there's a lot to be said for just finding a good, whitelisted community. I recommend the Balota Buddies community servers in particular, but there's many others out there. Sadly, DayZ staff can't do anything about Private Hives that are badly run - the only consolation is that in the long run, servers like that one will die out as people get fed up of being on the receiving end of abuse. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
*Exile* Sami 188 Posted February 28, 2013 (edited) Without a doubt my worst DayZ Server experience was on the namalsk Detox Server, the admins act like 10 year olds, Curse at players for the fun of it, and banned my group because I didnt appreciate his attitude towards players(I used no Abusive language/attitue WHAT-SO-Ever). novogeek 253 Posted February 28, 2013 PM me and I will give you the details of my Private Hive. My server runs standard load outs and I as the admin do not use the map tools at all ... Because it would just spoil the game.It is password protected at the moment while I resolve the whitelist issue and I haven't really advertised for players as such ... Server restarts every 3 hours to keep lag down. We love the pvp part of the game but we do not get butt hurt if you kill us. Come try our server and ask the folks that play there regularly. We run a good fun server. You'll love it.We're an East coast US server. BB do not have several community promotion threads.If you search Balota Buddies, you will find that there is only one or two promotion topics--promotion for the whole community. And that was a while back.They have server promotion/recruitment topics, because they are wanting more people on a particular server.Other than that, there are not several private forum threads.The original post was regarding abusive admins. Target Practice recommended Balota Buddies because they do not abuse their tools, even if some of the admins/moderators are fourteen.Back on topic, please.
