Rare items shouldn't automatically be the best.

Hey guys. I recently started thinking about it would be interesting if rare, but basically useless items were introduced.

These rare items would be extremely out of place weapons with rare ammunition, or weird, novelty toys or items that have a limited use.

It would basically be the ultimate screw you.

Just imagine. You're badly injured. Very hungry. Thirsty. You're only hope is to find a weapon and kill an animal and gut it. You go into a house. As you come around the corner you see... a musket. A friggin' musket. Did I mention you don't have the necessary supplies to reload the gun?

See? The ultimate screw you!

rare but ultimatly usless items....i like the idea they might could come to surve as some sort of currency type thing for trading, im not suggesting a currency system, but rare things have value because theyre rare, just like the mountain dew, its no different than a pepsi but its kind of special to have one lol

if there were more rare things besides weapons like nesting-dolls (just example) mabey someone would want to collect a whole set, thus making them valuable to that person, so they might be willing to trade usefull stuff for them.

YES. With the gun durability thing being added, having like, airsoft guns or model/replicas, that don't look different from actual guns would be kinda cool.

With the airsoft guns, there should be an indicator. Like, when reloading your mag, your rounds not being able to fit.

The replica could be the same thing, I think. Never held a replica.

To be honest, it's already like this, the Bizon SD is crap and it's super rare.

There could also be rare trash loot that could be collected by some players, maybe it could take on value as a currency (for instance a certain toy or something is worth a lot more than a single empty can).

Sure the Bizon is crap because almost everyone uses either an AS50 or a M107 or any other scoped rifle and is camping outside towns waiting for the zeds to pop up...if the majority had a realistic weapons set and handling would be real any smg or short rifle would be a valuable weapon to have for looting.

I tend to avoid high powered rifles anyway, much too loud. A good AK74-U does me just fine and it's reasonably quiet.

The Bizon is just an example, and the reason I think it's crap is because its ammo is much too rare to warrant holding on to it. I really like the idea of something like a 'trophy' shotgun or something in a manor house, of which there is only one on the map, but it wears down quickly and is inaccurate. Would make a valuable keepsake but do you use the space in your pack to carry it?
