Why do people consider Kamenka a bad spawn?

Since playing Dayz since a few weeks it came out, I have seen and heard people complain about spawning Kamenka but why? What is so bad about it that people kill themselves over it?

If you spawn at Kamenka, you are only a short run away from Zelenogorsk, which has a supermarket and several generic loot buildings to help get yourself suited up and from their you can choose to go north to the airfield or north-east to the military camp at Stary Sobor, one of it's better advantages is that you will hardly see players killing new spawns around Chernogorsk and Elektro.

But in response to the OP, the run to Zeleno isn't exactly short and from there, the run to NWAF is shorter than from Cherno but still no easy trip.

sometimes when im in a hurry or need to get somewhere after death(usually to Elektro or Cherno because something is going down there) then kamenka is a pretty annoying/shitty place to spawn in.

But when i spawn and im not in a hurry I usually just run from Kamenka up to Zelenegorsk so its not really a bad spawn....

I know right, I found an MP5, a Glock 17 in the Kamenka deer stands and an M9 in the deer stand near the village North of Kamenka.

And after that, it's good to run in Zeleno.

If you want to go to Electro or Cherno, it's a bad spawn. If you're heading North it's a great spawn.

I don't tend to mind a Kamenka spawn as I will just head to Cherno by way of Balota airfield. Done in stages like that it doesn't feel like too long a trip. I used to just head north by way of Zelenogorsk but with this mod being so glitchy with regard to random broken legs I now make sure I hit up the medical spawns before I leave the south coast.

That's weird, I think Kamenka is one of the best... Cherno is pure suicide unless the server is almost empty.

From Kamenka, you can go NE and hit 6 Deer Stands and a Barn, so you have pretty good chances to get a nice weapon, medical stuff and maybe a good backpack plus hatchet and food/beverages.

From there, as other players said, you have a nice supermarket in Zeleno where you can complete your setup, all in a couple of hours (maybe less) from spawning.

From Zeleno, if you are lucky, you have enough to move to NWAF directly.

I love the kamenka spawn, can hit quite a few deer stands and IMO a lot safer. Also I tend to keep a lot of my stuff on the west.

Plus there are a few deer stands on the way up. It's a safe spawn for me and an adventurous one. Most of the times you walk out of cherno or elektro fully geared. Not much of an efford, it's not fun. And that's why noobies suicide. The only times that i'll suicide from "side" spawns is to make it easier for mates to pick me up or meet up.

I like Kamenka for exactly the reasons the OP stated, plus there is often a Hilux at the more Western of the two farms.

Don't get me started on sodding 3 valleys spawn...

Because most of the action happens in Cherno / Elektro even though it's fully geared bandits on rooftops most of the time. I want to fight, not spend hours on end looking for gear that i won't actually use.

So in that regard, spawning in Kamenka is really shitty and especially when you spawn at the train bridge as there is no zombies there to suicide on and all you have is a 2.5 - 3 meter drop off the bridge to rely on.

If i where a lonewolf and all i ever wanted was to hoard gear and not actually play multiplayer then i would of course walk up past zele and onwards.

But then i should question why i even play DayZ in multiplayer if i don't actually want to interact with other players at all.

Good spawn for me - it's a short hike to Balota and the airfield/military tents, then onwards to Cherno.

Come in through the back way at the apartments (not so good now for loot after the last patch, though) and you're right at the hospital without ever having to go into Cherno proper.

After that - you're armed for bear.

Some people are just brain dead and dont realise theres 8 deer stands to loot on the way up to Zelenogorsk, Its one of my fav spawn points

HAHA so true, Berezino is my home turf on the server i play on, what ive done is set up tents between the south coast and berezino so if I do spawn there Ive got weapons and supplies to get me back up NE

Obviously takes a while to run it but in honesty it isnt that bad

Your definition of interaction

is exactly the reason why a majority of players prefer not to interact with players they don't know.

Also, while DayZ is multiplayer that doesn't mean DayZ = FPS game where the goal is to kill everyone else.

If that is your cup of tea, then honestly, I think vanilla ArmA2 multiplayer is what you need. Then again, play DayZ the way you want, just don't expect everyone else to play the game your way.

For me, multiplayer in DayZ is teamwork to stay alive and help friends and teammates get equipped as well as getting vehicles and so forth. The added element of potential hostile survivors just helps enhance the fun when entering towns and cities.

However, if I wanted just a pure PvP FPS game, then I would play Battlefield, "vanilla" ArmA, Blacklight Retribution, Ghost Recon or even The War Z (which is much more FPS oriented than DayZ).

As for Kamenka. I don't mind that spawn point. Where I spawn doesn't matter as much since friends can pick me up with a car or motorcycle anyways, so I never stay long in those areas. Only times I spend time there is if we need spare parts for vehicles, then I just sprint through all the loot locations and get a quick overview if there is anything worthwhile grabbing before I get picked up.

If I was a fresh spawn then Kamenka would be fine. Grab whatever you can from Kamenka, then hit deerstands as you run to Zelenogorsk, raid the supermarket and you are set to go whereever afterwards.

My favourite spawn point must be Quarry. I dunno, but I like spawning on the east side of Chernarus.
