Possible new buildings; serving more purpose.(Standalone)

Hi guys, I would like to present some buildings that could be helpful into(maybe Chernarus) I would like to see things such as..

(Images displayed in links are examples to prove a clarification to my definition as a support)
Inspirations; Dawn of the Dead, Dead Rising, Resident Evil series.

Shopping Malls; It's one or more buildings that forms a complex full of stores and shops that offer walkways, stairs and escalators for people to walk with ease. Here's how it could work out..
  • Main place for supplies and equipment; only downside is that due to it's popularity, it'll host more zombies(I mean, a lot more) so it wouldn't be a walk in the park.
  • Size should be a consideration of a mall. Larger the better as it'd serve a better purpose.
  • Adding some type of interior designs such as these; Interior(With Zombies)

Police Stations; There had to be law enforcement in every cities right? Why not have this become a part of the Standalone?

  • Additional firearms and gadgets like hand-cuffs/batons(even confiscated from criminals) can be found through file cabinets, armories and so forth.
  • Police uniforms which provide more urban 'camouflage' to the city environments and some protection.
  • Police vehicles in garages(most likely empty or damaged but can be fixed)
  • Items available such as city maps and consumables.

More Stores than supermarkets; Tired of seeing supermarkets as the only stores available? How about clothing, restaurants, gun shops(maybe) and such.

  • Offers more variety in towns when you are in seek of things you pursue for survival.
  • Adds in more civilian grade equipment instead of military taking the spotlight.
  • Possibility of adding car dealerships, hardware stores, newsstands and drug stores.

More open land farms; We all know that Old Macdonald had a farm before the apocalypse so what can we expect to see after it? Lifestock still alive or even crops maintained from weather conditions possibly?

  • Possibility of horse stables which can house several horses(not kept)
  • Lifestock such as cows, goats, chickens, pigs available.
  • Plants/trees which could host fruits/vegetables and even beans! :beans: That can be found depending on the condition such as being covered with diseases and other threats to crops; which could reflect from the weather conditions over time. Useful for foraging.

I get sick of seeing the same buildings over and over again. I hope to see buildings like this in the SA I really do.

The mall in "Dead Rising" will not be hit by another zombie game in the next 20 years. :P

"Dead Rising" is a "must play".

I think chernarus works how it is, because it feels real. This places have no shopping malls etc.

For other maps I support shopping malls etc.

Yeah that was my inspiration. It's a great game. The problem I see is that since it's based in Chernarus, it kind of restricts things being built into the games like buildings since it sticks to it's word for authenticity of actual places.

The restricts are ok (and nice), in reason of authenticity. (for this map)

Horses also wanted. :lol:

a large prison maybe an old Soviet Gulag ...could be on an island...that would be amazing...a coal mine ..schools and play schools...pharmacies....post offices....some large enterable ships in the harbours....

Great logical Ideas.

How about basements? and Attics? I have seen concept art for a basment but no in game screenshots yet. What better kind of base than a basement which needs only basic items in the way to hide it?

I would like to see also the ability of moving items in houses. All the new screens' show tables, beds and cupboards, it would be nice to be able to move them.

These are good ideas , for a different setting .

For me , a lot of the attraction of DayZ was the setting , the buildings , the landscape , the general ambience , the lack of "westernism" I guess .

The fire station "military loot" should be replaced with police stations in the three coastal big citites. They would have an armory which is protected by a locked gate. To get trough, bust it open with something. You could also replace the lock, so anyone else couldn't get their hands on the weapons. Of course you would have to guard it, but still.

I just think the map should be more interesting.

It's awfully boring. There's only like, 6 cities.

And your like a flea on an elephant. With 6 cities on it's back, for some reason.

I don't think it's unrealistic to have any of these buildings. Especially police stations and more stores.

I'm POSITIVE Russia has malls.

It would be nice.

Gives use to the crowbar at least. Buildings like this would be high risk, keeps you on your toes.

I wouldn't mind more variety with exsisting buidings, as of now its > fire station, look near boxes, peg it for the stairs, crap on 2 levels and maybey sommat good on the third > heart drops, run away.

I'd say as well as castle ruins you also have abandoned Bunkers from an old War, perhaps multi-story apartment buildings that can be entered (think the massive buildings, not the apartments we have now)

I am all for more unique buildings as long as these two conditions are met.

1. Performance doesn't take too big of a hit.

2. Loot doesn't become too easy to find. I feel that gear should be as rare as or rarer than the mod. Just because you COULD find a gun at the police station doesn't mean you WILL find a gun. Everyone and their mother would have checked the police station for a gun so actually finding one would be difficult.

With the new loot spawns system and the "hidden" loot, I can't wait to explore every new structure and area. Hopefully, there are some unique building in there too! :D

I'd love to see more varied buildings. I'd offer my help if it would be taken with modelling & mapping stuff out, although it does take a good amount of work, but whatever. And having randomized prefab interiors would be awesome as well.
