Private or public, whenever I watch frankieonpc he always seems to find good loot, vehicles. Every time I play seem to spend all my time running. The one time I almost managed to get a car running I was on tire away from finnishing and I was respawnd back to coast the next time logged in.

I only play on public servers because I like to be able to move around different servers, wat u all think?

Hacking works well for frankie on both private and public servers.

Last time I played on public server I was killed by a hacker within 20 minutes. I generally stick to private hives.

Private, whitelisted, properly administrated. My public character is fully geared, just in case, but I only die to hacks there. Its such a drag.

It's been ages since I have played public, but from what what I have heard, it really hasn't improved much since my last playthrough (literally the moment I got into the server I was teleported to Skalasty Island for a Deathmatch, which I fought and won, just because.)

Private, as long as proper moderation and counter-hacking measures via white-listing or pass-wording are implemented, will be the best option for a fair experience, but regular private hives also work fine.

I've been kinda suspicious of Frankie for a while.

I love his videos, but I feel that some of it scripted/fake. It's like it RAINS sniper rifles and vehicles wherever he is. Unless there's hours upon hours upon hours and hours of running around that he doesn't add to the video.

Not to mention that he always gets corned by: Bandits with weapons. Bambi's with sniper rifles. Crash sites wherever he goes. Amazing strokes of luck every fifteen minutes.

either he isn't legit, it's scripted (someone on the server is giving the shit to him, not necessarily un-ethically, either. Just donating their gear), or he's the luckiest person EVER. Either way, don't go into DayZ expecting to get the same shit Frankie does.

Btw I have only come across a couple of hackers on the server I play on. US 137, if anyone is interested.

It's usually a balance. It's easier to access and find full servers on public, but it also attracts more idiots, but whether it's private or public, I prefer using the same server get to know the regular players. Whenever hackers begin getting on my nerves, I switch to whitlisted for a while.

I play on a private hive, (Almost) fully geared up. I only miss NVGs and rangefinders. Not that important, tbh. I've played at night a lot, even found my M107 at night.

I also got an M4A3, M9SD and a 1911. Carrying all at once :D

There is a log on reddit which shows frankie on someones server changing his name about 10 times (same IP every time), and using a different GUID later when he is banned.

He always has decent gear

In one video he spots someone 800m away in the corner of his screen. His excuse is his monitor is great.

I don't care for the "well his video's are entertaining" argument. The fact he hacks ruins it completely for me.

There is literally no way to obtain a yellow temperature gauge. He claims it was his rendering or something like that, but in video's you can see it changing from yellow to the normal colour. There is an obvious difference between the 2. I know a person who bought hacks for a month (well, i know several, but we won't go there), and he confirmed that godmode gives you a randomly flashing yellow temp gauge. There is no other way to get it either.

You don't get a yellow temp gauge for being a good player either, so don't try that one on me, Tim.

Apart from that, all the other things can have reason behind them, but they are so far fetched it's hilarious.

I'm not trying to disprove the 'Frankie is a hack' theory. I'm quite certain he's used scripts and whatnot, and been caught on video.

But I was playing on a private server for the desert map. Takistan or whatever it is. I got my legs broke from a zombie, and there's NO military loot in Takistan. I had a decent gun, didn't wanna lose it, so I decided to crawl to the nearest barracks. I was doing the whole jump-shuffle. Jump up, fall down, jump up, fall down. Feels quicker than crawling.

Either way, my character just... stopped falling over. I sprinted to the airfield, proned, crouched, stepped over an object, all of that. All with a broken leg. No morphine.

You also didn't notice that when he was running around with the broken leg, he spawned in a random coyote pack next to his feet. ;)

I was lucky enough to browse the threads before I started playing this and learned about private hives and the private hive section, so I never ended up joining a public server and meeting any hackers. And about Frankie, I enjoy his vids. Wether or not he hacks, I don't know. I think he just cuts out boring parts of the game(10km runs, lootless loot runs, other actionless parts). Frankie makes his vids cinematic so they'll actually entertain people, and don't ever consider it the kind of gameplay you want to learn from. Jackfrags is more skilled at the game anyways, but the game to me is not about skill. Its more luck and chance than anything.

Public is fairly dead from what I've seen its all about private hives atm. If you want a fair amount of people I would stick to a non whitelisted the few that I have played seem to max out around 20 at peak and normally have 10 people on.

Public works if you join when the population is low and log out at the first mention of a hacker anywhere.

A hacker wants an audience, wants to teleport more than a few people to the NWAF to blast them to bits or host a dance party. Sure, there's no safety on the low population public servers but the times I've been subjected to mass teleport and thundering explosions of doom, there have been at least ten to twelve people.

The drawback of a private server that I have found is that they can change the map, so all of your hard work might vanish because they have gone from Cherno to Taviana and then Panthera to keep things interesting for them. I suppose more research on a server is required for the private ones.
