Longest time you have stalked someone?

Recommended Posts

What is the longest time you have stalked someone(them moving, and not being seen), you do not have to end up killing them to share your story.

Mine is about 45minutes to an hour. I found a guy in the woods above Berizino, looks like we were both going to check the Black Lake UAZ spawn, but I was behind him. He did not notice me and I kept to the bushes as best I could, there was no UAZ, but in side chat there were people talking about meeting up, but there was no place to meet up. Slowly I put together that the guy I was following was the leader of a 4 man group, who lost VOIP contact. This guy was pretty well armed, so I figured I'd go ruin their day. I followed him all the way to Gorka without being seen. Here I dug in about 300 meters away with a clear view of him and waited. I had only one mag of M24, so I could not fuck around with ammo, but a 300 meter engagement with a M4 isn't ideal but isn't hard. After maybe 5 minutes his friends all came running down the road, and they linked up. Here is where it got interesting, they all turned directly towards where me and the guy I was following came from, and started running. My thoughts is they were headed to NEAF since there were barracks there on the server we were on. I studied the terrain and figured if I held out, they would have no chances of seeking cover in the fields outside the city, and would be put down quickly. As soon as they were about 100m into the fields, I started to engage. 5 bullets yieleded 2 kills, 4 hits and a miss. One had a broken leg, faster than I ever have before, I got my M4 out and rained in fire. At this point the unwounded guy was putting a few rounds down range but everything was hitting 10-15 m to my right. A few 5.56 rounds later, there were 4 KIA in the fields above Gorka.

I stalked someone that killed my buddy for about an hour or so once. I climbed onto a building to line up my shot, I killed him with a couple of great long range shots and then rolled off the edge and died :(

Cant tell you how many times I have died by going prone too close the edge of buildings.

I had stalked a heli for about an hour before finally setting down near the outskirts of Cherno. The entire crew disembarked, and then dispersed into all of the nearby buildings. At this moment, I sprinted out from the trees, got into the pilot seat, and flew off into the sunset.

Actually, I flew it for a few minutes until I got paranoid and ditched it in some trees up north. I didn't have a camp to store it at anyway.

Actually, I don't know if this is stalking, or just tracking. An enemy squad stole my squad's Ural full of gear a few months ago. While I was north of Novy, I kept hearing Ural sounds in the area and seeing dust off in the distance. I alerted my squad and we set up a perimeter in the area. Using our combined intel, we figured out the general route that they we driving back and forth along. We ended up following the Ural on a couple ATVs for 15 minutes before jumping off and opening fire. We ended up killing the 7 members of their squad while only losing one of us. Stupidly, they still had the Ural completely stocked full of all of our gear.

I don't generally stalk myself as i don't have the patience for it.

However, i myself was stalked for a good hour or so on Lingor once. I was looting a building when i spotted a player watching me - i bolted, escaped and continued on my merry way. Low and behold an hour or so later hackers killed everyone and then on Side Chat a player said he'd been stalking me since i spotted him and ran.

I have no idea why he didn't take a shot, but maybe he just liked to watch. Kinky bastard!

I don't think I've stalked somone on DayZ, but I have a fairly interesting story when I was stalked once.

So I was coming out of Elektro to the North West, Stocked with a Ghillie suit and an AK-74. I decided to go to Solnichniy to gear up more, and being I was fairly new to the game, I ran through the forest thinking that no one would ever hear or see me. I was wrong. Slowly, I hear "Buuuuddddddyyyyy" In a rather high pitched voice. I see some guy with a flashlight running behind me and so I break his leg with an AK shot before backing up until I fell onto some rocks in the Solni quarry :C

About 10 minutes. I saw a guy in a Ural and I was new to the game, and couldn't work up the nerve to get close enough to see talk or shoot him. I lost him pretty fast.

About half an hour, in the woods north of Cherno.

I spotted this skulking along the tree-line near the road while I was deper in the woods. I'm not a baddie, so I wasn't going to kill him. It was just interesting watching another player doing his thing.

I spied on him as he killed a few zombies (his gunshots attracted me) and looted their corpses and followed him for a while before losing him. Was a lot more fun than it sounds!

My friend and I once stalked a group of 5 starting from south of Stary for about 2 and a half hours, and they had no idea we were their the whole time. We followed them for atleast 2 hours while they looted stary, headed south west and set up a camp fire and hunted animals, then looted Vybor, and then to the airfield. We killed all 5 of them with only 5 shots from 600m away.

Don't go mental at me because they did nothing too me. We didn't KOS, we let them live when we found them, and we took them out with precision. I feel like that's how the game is meant to be played. Not you just seeing someone and spraying because you're scared.

I also had an incident on a private hive about a week ago, where some guy knew I had top tier gear, and he said he was coming for me in a light hearted way. I didn't want to take any chances though, and again, I found him entering stary, and followed him until the Airfield again, and took him out. That one was about 1 and a half hours, and I was by myself.

Stalking people at night time is one of the most intense things you can do, especially when you don't have NVG's

I stalked some guy at Cherno, I climbed up in the rooftops of the indrustial buildings and got a good view. I climbed down and followed him in the Hotel area too. I didn't see him, but I was sure that he was in the hotel, so I just waited.

I got shot at by a winchester guy at a rooftop though. Took him out in a firefight and didn't see the guy I stalked after that. Probably ran.

I stalked a guy for 20 minutes.. And it was his first time playing, I felt terrible. He spawned in Kamenka, and we happened to be heading to Komarovo to get industrial parts. I caught this guy with a flashlight in the corner of my eye, and as it was night and I was wearing a ghille and stalked him from Kamenka to Balota Camp. Best part was he crawled the whole way there, occassionally crouching to scan with his flashlight (Most likely did not know the gamma exploit). The whole time I was doing the evil, creepy voice in direct.

After I got bored, I confronted him, which was funny because he kept getting brief glimpses of me before I finally stood still, for him it must of been like seeing a ghost for a split second. He asked if I had been hearing voices, which I said no.. And he thought it was part of the game. For his determination to reach Balota and pure skill and avoiding zombies.. I handed him my M9 as a gift and sent him on his way.

I still felt terrible for what I had done to the poor guy though.. Terrified him . B)

Ive been stalking Pamela Anderson since I was 9 years old. So that puts me at about 15 years of stalking. Good luck beating my record.

Ok kidding aside like DemonGroover said I also do not have the patience to stalk very well. Once I locate a player my heart starts thumping my mind starts racing and the adrenaline kicks in. At this point I get so excited I usually have to pee. So I have to act quickly to ensure I dont wet myself. It usually ends in a fire fight or just letting them go about their business and me using the toilet.

Yesterday, for about half an hour, at the NWAF. Looking for NVG's (still) I headed to he barracks across the runway from the hangars. After looting and finding an M9SD, but no NVG'S, I went into the second door nearest to the entrance to hide while I grabbed some food and water.

I thought I heard a zombie aggro, but casually ignored it. Seconds later, while I was about to get into my beans, a bandit comes careering past me. He doesn't see me. I ready my M4.

Within 5 seconds, the same thing happens. He runs right past me and out of the barracks. Strange, he never even looked for loot. I almost run after him and open fire, but decide to lay low. After all, I didn't know that the bandit was alone. Given that he ran straight into and out of the building, he may have been trying to bait me.

I crept around the barracks, peering out of every possible crack, window and doorway whilst maintaining cover. Quiet. Nothing at all.

I decided to make my move. The thought had occurred to me that I was running into a trap, that I wouldn't make it ten feet from the entrance. It had been 120 days since I started my journey, and this was the most I have feared for my life. Might as well go down fighting I thought.

I burst out of the building, ready to meet my fate. A solitary zombie shuffled awkwardly across the grass. The bandit never knew I was there... Lucky.

After the close encounter, I decided to leave the NWAF. Just as I round the corner, after refilling my water bottle, in the distance, I notice the bandit. I decided to head to the hill that looks on to the front of the hangars. I could watch him from a safe distance, unseen, and still be close enough to take the shot if need be.

So I watched him loot the hangars one by one, before checking out the control tower and the fire station. After that, he headed back across the runway towards where we first crossed paths. I wondered where he was going, but then I noticed he had picked up a shiny new sniper rifle in one of the hangars. He was headed for the tower, on the south of the runway. only business a bandit had there was murder. I tracked him from my position, waiting for the right time. He made it to the top of the structure, and preceded to turn and look right at me. Or at least it looked like it. I held fire. He turned to look out onto the hangars. I zeroed him at around 400m, using my L85, and took the shot. One shot, one kill.

Poor bastard never had any inkling I was watching.

On an early life I spawned on the beach and lacking wisdom of more experienced players I wandered into Cherno. After having my nipples torn off by more zombies then I’d ever seen I spotted a Ghille suited survivor picking his way north. I ghosted his every move, turn and action for 20 minutes to escape the city then watched him head off into the woods. I don’t think he knew that he saved some bambi. On this day, stalking saved my life.

EDIT: IDK what the hell happened to my text, sorry
