Favourite background music while on DayZ

Recommended Posts

Being a bit of a punk rocker (wish I'd be born 10 years earlier sometimes) I like to listen to Poison Idea or even a bit of Conflict when I'm racing through the wilderness on my own.

If I'm sitting down for a campfire to cook some meat and get myself warm I might play something from the Congos, nice and mellow like.

I'm pretty sure we'd have to go back to the walkman and cassettes in our batteries-only future so I'd get taping now if I were you!

Here's my DayZ Island Discs:

1. Dead Kennedys

2. Poison Idea

3. Blitz

4. Conflict

5. Cockney Rejects/Sparrer

6. The Congos

7. Hugh Mundell

8. King Tubby/Lee Perry

9. Ramones

10. Motorhead

I pity my travelling partner, but what do you/would you listen to?

I like Dead Kennedys and Ramones...plus Slayer too but now I listen to Epic songs.

So, when I'm hunting (players) and find one I play Audiomachine Collossus and open up the mic...so if you hear the song below that means that your END is near.

SPOILER ALERT = Contains scenes from the ending of Games of Thrones season 2.

surely louis armstrong’s "what a wonderful world" would suit dayz ... just as the inkspots "set the world on fire" did for the fallout 3 intro

I turn off the in-game music and only have the effect active. That way I can pay attention to my teamspeak channel and the world around me.

Oh God, I don't like the in-game music. I can get confused if I'm in a tense situation and momentarily think it was a zombie or gunshots.

I enjoy cruising around the map playing this over direct. The Joey Ramone cover is also enjoyable. I think it has a calming effect on players.

Usually just the DayZ ambience. Perhaps if I DO fix up my party bus you may here a variety of music... Mainly "Fortunate Son" (Creedence Clearwater Revival) While going through Elektro with more than enough snipers taking potshots at the beautiful bus.

If I play any game while listening to music I play like crap. Only time I play music is on games like GTA, where you just mess about anyway, or like zombies on CoD, some epic music holding off hordes of zombies.

But yeah, how you can play DayZ with music is beyond me. Surely it leaves you at a fairly large disadvantage?

Metalcore, generally.

I always listen to:

August Burns Red and Crown The Empire

This is the only song to roll with in this game. Spam it in direct when you see someone, epic adventures await you.
