About to give up. Last cry for help.

Recommended Posts

I never thought I'd see the day where I made an account on this forum but this is my last cry for help.

Okay so I started off with ARMA II Free and I bought Operation Arrowhead from Steam, I couldn't get the game to work so after 2 days of trying I gave up and just resulted to buying ARMA II from Steam. I've spent three days trying to get this to work but I haven't been able to join or play a single game of DayZ. I've manually installed DayZ, I've installed DayZ using DayZ commander, I've also used 'ARMA II Launcher' this is seriously getting on my nerves now.

  • I've manually updated both BEClient.dll and BEServer.dll in both:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2\BattlEye

  • I've reinstalled both ARMA II and Operation Arrowhead 4 times now.

  • I've unblocked all of the BEclient.dll and BEserver.dll files in OA and ARMA II (Right click/properties)

  • I've 'Verified the integrities' of both game caches being ARMA II and Operation ArrowHead.
  • ARMA II and DayZ are both updated to the latest patch in DayZ Commander

Still no luck.

I seriously don't know what's going wrong.

Here is an image you might want to take note of; Why is it red?

Like I've said I haven't played a single game so I don't know what it's like normally, maybe it is red I don't know but it doesn't look right.. I don't know. (Just incase the image doesn't work.) In the 'pre game lobby' It says

BattlEye Client: Initialized (v1.185)

post-137798-0-26438400-1356967540_thumb.

After seeing that image and clicking join game. Everything loads then I get this message.

You were kicked off the game. (BattlEye: Client not responding)

post-137798-0-82782700-1356967580_thumb.

Seriously. Please understand why I am pissed off. I've not just come here complaining about shit that's easily fixed wasting your time. I've watched so many guides on Youtube. Read through this forum and others. I just don't know what to do. BattlEye need to get their shit together or they're gonna have a lot of angry players to deal with. Please please help me someone. Please. I hate spending money especially if it's £20 on pointless crap that doesn't even work.

I think the above poster missed the point you were trying to get across.

Battleye confirmation is always red, that doesn't mean anything.

In my experience Battleye takes a while to boot up. If I were you I'd try waiting in the lobby until it's fully initialized. If it still doesn't work, try closing the game (alt-tab then choose "close game" in Dayz Commander) and reopen it on the same server a few times. Sometimes I have to close and restart up to 10 times in a row.

If that doesn't work then yeah, contacting battleye might be your best bet.

edit: not referring to Mr. Nasty when I say "above poster"

Have you tried updating battleye using steam?

How do I go about doing that?

Forget about DayZ and all that other stuff.

Try and get the vanilla game working and be sure to follow the instructions and guides that can be found on these Forums (New Player Stickies) and elsewhere and then worry about the DayZ Mod.

You need to get ArmAII/CO to update to latest BE, try joining a vanilla MP game using the in-game browser.

When I have trouble updating BE, I join an empty server with a good ping, works 9 times out of ten.

Did you clean any previous ArmAII free data ?

Good luck, oh and nevermind the other #.

From the BE site:

  • Client not responding: This can happen if the server's or your connection times out for quite a while or breaks up completely. A common solution is to update your modem/router's firmware. Other than that, please ensure that there are no problems with your internet connection (you might want to contact your ISP).

If you still can't fix it, you should contact BE support and see what they respond: http://www.battleye.com/support.html

Honestly? I'd completely delete local data via steam on both ArmA II and OA, go into your "My Documents" and remove anything ArmA related. Re-install everything fresh, open up DayZ Commander, install DayZ and ArmA II beta through it. Then try again.

My only theory is that something messed up by attempting to use the free version of ArmA II first. Give it a shot.

the dgn has an automatic update somewhere when you login to the webpage for the router

you right click on the files in steam go to properties local content and the verify game cache (must be done with steam in admin mode) and run each game back to the menus

switch the router into dmz just to see if the router is blocking this

Just gonna remind you, you MUST run both Arma II and Arma II: OA before installing DayZ.

Done all of that except putting my router into dmz.

I've never had a problem with my router in the past so I don't know how to do that. Could you or someone else help? :/

basically just turn off your firewall for your router just to test then switch it back on if it works

I've switched off the one for my router by going into control panel. How do I do it for my computer?

Never mind, got it

Done, but before I run (from DayZ Commander) shall I launch it using Steam and' Replace Original ARMA2OA files with Beta so Steam works'?
