I get the feeling that at some point down the road, sprinting will become limited to a set amount of distance before we have to slow down. I am not confirming anything, just stating from past experience with numerous games over time, a limit comes into fruition for how we can run and would not be surprised if that occurs in this game.

But for right now, I do love the fact that our characters are on steroids.....that or terminators.

It could also be a factor in how much noise you generate. This might be a bit of a harder difficulty but making sure that your gear is secure and not loose could determine also how much noise you generate and the off chance of you dropping something!

They really do not need to be setting any kind of date right now. If that is true that will only make people more angry when that date passes by. The holidays are over so hopefully they are back to developing. However, The official silence continues which is unfortunate.

Once again, nobody is asking them to set a date, the problem is that there was a date that was repeated several times and that date has passed and we had no morsel of information. A simple "We are still working on critical parts of the standalone and currently do not have an ETA" would be fine.

Instead we get silence. And silence loses sales.

I think the real question is about the Cd key theft. With the standalone version of DayZ will i be able to play even though my CD Key is stolen? That all depends if they use Battleye though right?

SA uses Steam. So unless your steam account gets hacked you should be fine in my opinion. Just use basic security practices (Like never downloading a program from a site or group you do not 99.9 percent trust for one.)

And SA uses VAC which is far superior to the other anti-cheat systems in my opinion as it was written in a time where hacking was destroying games like counter-strike.

I was mentioning that rumor posted above from the Russians that the SA was coming on the 15th. That is why I said if it is true.

And that is good line for them to tweet. It is unfortunate that the silence continues even tho the holidays are over.

Well then to be frank you did something that caused it to be stolen and you need to reevaluate your computer security in my opinion before even considering SA.

Going into hiding was indeed a poor decision in my opinion. And the holiday excuse does not work when a Tweet takes less than 30 seconds to make and there is more than Rocket at BI.

The situation is unfortunate I can only hope with the holidays over Rocket will soon make an announcement.

Minecraft-Style = No Pre-Orders (Well unless you consider playing the Alpha and Beta builds to be Pre-Ordering)

When it is ready for public testing it will appear for sale on Steam. So far there is no confirmed dates on when this is happening.

Okay, so the issue is, is Rocket should have updated us, and if not, then another dev should have. I realize he posted 12 days ago, and yes, that is keeping us fairly updated, but people are growing to be impatient. The deadline was not met, but so? If you like DayZ, you'd realize the fact of "Hey! Maybe I should wait. The game might be terribly buggy right now. I want the BEST possible outcome for the game." Setting deadlines on games, honestly I think ruins part of it. If you want a deadline, make one up on how long you think the game would take. Otherwise, I think you can wait.

I hope Rocket is okay though, and will soon make an announcement.

Due to the fact of what I've heard, it's going in the payment style of Minecraft. Which is like $15 at Alpha, 18 or 20 at Beta, then later on, slowly making it's way up to the full price ($30 or so)

Something I've often wondered. When the Stand Alone is released Did the Outbreak just happen, was it Years later or a mere days or Weeks . You may say what the hell is this Guy smoking, but it does make a difference to how the game would look and possibly the amount of Zeds. What's your thoughts ?

Yes the whole issue is NOT the delay. It is the lack of any form of communication.

When the silence started I figured "Ohhhh Snap! Rocket is focusing on finishing up SA so he can smash the ripoff WarZ in the market" I still think it can be the case. However, This rumors of blood pressure and all that just make it sound like development has all but stopped. Something that would be helped if there was a 30 second tweet on either feed.

I think their focus is matching the mod in playability before public alpha. Story and such comes much later in the process in my opinion.

In a way I would like it if there wasn't unlimited sprint but at the same time considering how big the map is, having unlimited run is nice.

I hope they weren't in over their head on making the switch to Take on Helicopters... It's very possible that they made the change and didn't expect the results that were given... or maybe they are moving to Arma 3 possibly... who knows. An update, of just screen shots stating that they are working hard would even be something we're all looking for...

That is unlikely to be the case. As others have mentioned the bigger issue is likely the change to server control and entities for everything.

That is why a delay is fine. The lack of any word about it is not so great.

the last game i raged for was war z, they did a mail with apologize at least, and devs team still talk with community, going to rage very hard if we cant have any information bout the game!
