I downloaded a thing saying that my arma 2 will go just fine after it was download. when i downloaded the program my avg told me it was a Trojan horse and i removed it quickly. just now i woke up too my account getting hacked. i can't login my DayZ commander says i need Combined operations.. tho first later that night i read in the forum about software. and i was like. -.- darn it ......

So what can i do ??.

I wrote a letter to the guy on youtube. reported him etc. ??

You'll have to make a new steam account and re-buy arma 2 after deleting your old CD key with reg edit. Google how to do it.

And don't download any arma 2 mods from youtube. Ever,

yeeeeah... but not everybody did make that mistake. It sucks, but nobody's gonna care because it was your own choice to download it without doing proper research.

Youtube has a special ability that the OP of the video can keep the comments he likes and erase the ones which he dosent. You can see if that's enabled by clicking on the comment square and it will say: "The OP of this video chose the ability to keep comments he likes" or something like that. If I'm not wrong you can just use your email to reset your password, but be carefull, the virus may contain keylogger which can get your email adress hacked aswell. So clean your computer with your anti-virus of choice and then be carefull what you do. And next time ask around before downloading random stuff from the internet. Also try avoiding obvious programms like Arma2FPSEnlarger.exe because that's the most obvious hack there is. And also try to avoid .rar files from youtube, most of them will contain viruses and to unlock some of the .rar files you'll have to fill out a survey. I hope this was helpfull :)

my computer is all clean again. but what do you mean with the reset of a password ??. it's the serial that has been hacked not my account :).

i can still acces my account. i just can't login to arma 2 oa. arma 2 runs just fine but not oa. i ran steam in admin mode and nothing worked. so what you are telling me is that i should change my password and it could be possibly working again ? !

i got it fixed somehow.

i created a new password for my steam account hotmail account.

i went into my regedit and maked all my keys and subkeys *allow instead of deny

and then it worked all fine again.... i don't know what caused to problem.but yerstoday i played just fine with the normal settings.

Your account and CD-key is your responsibility. Having downloaded a random program off of Youtube and and getting a virus from it onto your computer is not enough of an excuse to have your game refunded.

And.. Quick question.

Mind telling us what this "program" was that you tried downloading? Because..

- It's on Youtube.

- A lot of people were telling "that it worked."

- You're not mentioning what the program actually IS..

I'm starting to feel that you tried downloading an outdated hack.

Edit; After reading your solution, I'm even more sure of the fact that you tried downloading a hack that was actually a CD-key stealer. They also replace your CD-Key with a banned/invalid one so you can't play anymore, while they proceed to sell your CD-key to a (possibly several)hacker for a couple bucks.

We've had a lot of you guys in the past. This wouldn't come as a surprise.

Steam will not help you on this one, you downloaded the software off your own back therefore it is your own fault.

Oh no sorry, I misread, I thought your STEAM account was hacked not the game itself. I dont have alot of experience on the steam platform but I suggest you contact steam support and gather some evidence if you can.

Steam can't help him, if it's Key issues then that's a Battleye issue. But i agree with Dancing Russian Man on what i have read so far.

i was not trying to download a hack. i'm against hacking. i'll tried to post a video of the DayZ performance helper. but it said something on the forum that i couldn't post a video.

and my game is back i'll tried some fixes inside my reg something and got it too work.funny it is cuz yerstoday i played just fine...

well i just figured out youtube or himself did something. cuz hes account on youtube is not available anymore.
