flayer0 34 Posted December 12, 2012 For those tl;dr my idea is loot should leave an imprint when picked because they’re dusty. After frolicking from town to town I got pretty sick and tired of not knowing if the town’s local supermarket or buildings were already looted or if the items still hadn’t spawned. So I thought, this is a zombie apocalypse, the fall of civilization has to of been at least been a couple months ago from the look of things, items laying on the floor should of at least collected some dust.So this is where my idea comes in, I propose that when loot has been taken off the floor it should leave that clean imprint dusty things leave when you pick up a book from my book shelf. I’m not saying it should leave an exact imprint of what that item was but leave some sort of imprint to indicate items have already spawned and have already been taken. So what do you think? Like it or did you love it?If you amused by my idea checkout my other unique ideas and dont forget to like comment and subscribe:http://dayzmod.com/f...-the-immersion/http://dayzmod.com/f...in-unique-ways/http://dayzmod.com/f...take-on-trains/
dekartz 315 Posted December 12, 2012 Surprisingly interesting idea. Though overall, dust would be sorta hard to portray accurately, potentially graphics intensive, and so on.
Failbait 60 Posted December 12, 2012 I like where you're going, but not through way you get there. There's got to be better way for the game to let you know this information.

Bludy 324 Posted December 12, 2012 this would be a shiny detail, a point scored for immersion..
UmBe 125 Posted December 12, 2012 I also like the idea, But i don't know if it would be very Hard to implement this, without impacting the FPS count

flayer0 34 Posted December 12, 2012 There's got to be better way for the game to let you know this information.I had a mini brainstorm to try and think of a way do display if items had already spawned and this seemed to be the only way to display this in a very subtle way without breaking the immersion.I also like the idea, But i don't know if it would be very Hard to implement this, without impacting the FPS countWould it really be that graphically intense to show dust on the floor?
Failbait 60 Posted December 13, 2012 This is a legitimate concern. But this needs to be adjusted "up the chain" so to speak. Which means that it's less about floor texture and more about where loot spawns and how. And what happens when it's taken.Might I suggest you make a new thread that asks something like "What way should the game tell you when something has been recently looted?" I'd do it but I dont want to steal your thunder.

enforcer1975 1111 Posted January 29, 2013 It would be good if "snipers" catch dust when lying too long on one spot...
